This week on the podcast, we’re in Week 7 of a 6-month series on the Sermon on the Mount. The text discusses the sixth Beatitude, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." This beatitude points to a profound mystery. Purity of heart is not about perfection, says Darrell, but integrity and a sincere desire for truth - qualities that come from being gospelized, and not through personal effort. The pure in heart are blessed because they see God, not through their own merit, but by fixing their gaze on the grace and compassion of Jesus.
