Mollie O’Brien is the Executive Director of Proof Alliance. She joins Sheletta to raise awareness about fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) and Proof Alliance which supports individuals, families and professionals across the lifespan.

Fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) are a group of conditions caused by prenatal alcohol exposure. As many as 1 in 20 children in the United States has an FASD.

People on the FASD spectrum may experience various challenges, including learning difficulties and behavioral symptoms. They also have many unique strengths and talents.

She is first joined by United Healthcare’s Brett Edelson to chat about the Special Olympics coming to Minnesota in 2026. Then, a conversation with one of Sheletta’s favorite authors, Minda Harris who has a new book on fostering trust in the workplace.

Sheletta was transformed after reading Minda Harts’ “The Memo” so she booked her to talk all about it. She has a new book coming out about trust in the workplace. She shares why she was inspired to write about how we connect and communicate at work. Sheletta talks about the importance of this book especially with so many people being called back into the office.

Brett Edelson is CEO of UnitedHealthcare of Minnesota.

The Special Olympics is coming to Minnesota in June 2026! United Healthcare is a partner of the Minnesota Special Olympics and playing a huge support role in the upcoming games.

Brett talks about bringing the American based Special Olympics to Minnesota and how it came together. They also talk about the sensory suite that United Healthcare has at Target Field for those needing a break.

They also talk about upcoming plans they have for some special kids with the Minnesota Vikings.

Brandon Jones is the Executive Director of the Minnesota Association for Children’s Mental Health. Executive Director that works to help support the school counselors and teachers who serve children who are struggling with their mental health.

Brandon details what his organization does in helping people do by providing support and access to resources to sustain their ever important role. He also talks about an upcoming event that MACMH and the ways you can support.

Sheletta is all about purposeful partnerships, especially during National Black Business Month. Kyle Mealy is hosting an upcoming entrepreneurial workshop next week at the Mall of America for small business owners. The event takes place on Wednesday, September 17 at 10am, and includes a 60 minute workshop/30 minute live Q&A for entrepreneurs and small business owners with 10 or fewer employees.

Kyle talks about his passion in helping other small businesses find their next level especially with how tough it is to survive the first year (the numbers aren’t great).

Thom Peterson is Commissioner of Agriculture of Minnesota and he ran into Sheletta at the Washington County Fair. He joins Sheletta to talk about his emphasis on getting out and talking to people across the state at the local fairs. They also talk about Thom’s decades long experience with show ponies and the life lessons competition still provides him.

Sheletta is all about purposeful partnerships, especially during National Black Business Month. She and Joe Lowe (Store Manager at the Robbinsdale Hy-Vee) are going to be working together for a Small Business Saturday Showcase next week at the Robbinsdale Hy-Vee. The event takes place on August 9th, from 8am-12pm and it will feature a number of Black Entrepreneurs and their products that will be on their shelves.

Sheletta and Joe talk about the whys behind events/partnerships like this and what they believe it generates among customers and the community. Joe emphasizes the demand and openness his store has in meeting with small business owners who are looking to sell their products on Hy-Vee’s stores.
