Last week, the federal government introduced legislation to provide pardons to people convicted of simple cannabis possession with no application fee and no wait time.  Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale says the legislation will allow people to shed the stigma of a record, eliminating barriers to job opportunities, education, housing, and even the ability to volunteer for a charity in their community.

A Houston man's Facebook post has gone viral after saying he plans to live in a Holiday Inn instead of a nursing home cause it's a better deal.  He points out that breakfast is included, as well as a spa, swimming pool, workout room and washer-dryer, saving him 128.77 a day for lunch and dinner.

Jody Wilson-Raybould says she came under inappropriate pressure, including veiled threats, from the Prime Minister's Office, the Privy Council Office and the finance minister's office to halt a criminal prosecution of Montreal engineering giant SNC-Lavalin.  Wilson-Raybould told the Commons justice committee the pressure and threats came from nearly a dozen people at the highest rank of government.

Since Jody Wilson-Raybould quit cabinet a couple weeks ago, everyone from NDP members to Conservatives have been supporting her, saying she needs to speak about what did and didn't happen.  But what can we make of her record as Justice Minister?  Kyla Lee, a defence lawyer on the West Coast wrote an op-ed for The Huffington Post that questions her record...she says Raybould did a poor job.

The Canadian Press published a story that we are seeing more and more often...people wasting resources and time tying up 911 with stupid calls.  When an Amber Alert went off last Thursday woke people up, people phoned 911 to complain and even tweet about it.  The alert was to bring attention to the disappearance of 11-year old Riya Rajkumar, who was later found dead.  How do we punish people who phone 911 for non-emergencies?
