Our first guest of the season hails from Melbourne and she’s an amazing woodworker and all round great person to meet. Alexsandra Pontonio is a renowned furniture maker who has worked on projects that appeared on The Block TV series and helped setup a workshop in Arnhem Land. She has some great stories and it was great to hear her process.

In this episode we meet our first Parisian, although he currently lives in Sydney. Arthur Seigneur is a world renowned furniture maker, specialising in the art of straw marquetry. It’s a woodworking technique whereby straw is veneered to a substrate, and the straw can be dyed before being applied. It’s a fascinating process, this episode is an eye opener for sure.

It’s been just over a month since our last episode and we’re here to tell you why. We also get into Joey’s curved staircase, a behemoth of a project. It’s had some client challenges, as well as the practicality issues of building 2 staircases in a woodworking workshop. It’s good to be back after a short break.
