This week's story is another of our own - this time a mysterious merfolk story by Melody Bowles. We also discuss myths and legends and how they should be used in modern storytelling.

This week, Donald McGregor joins us to talk about H.P. Lovecraft. We talk about the concept of cosmic horror, how H.P Lovecraft came into being, and the difficulties of adapting his work to other formats.

In the first ever episode, Matt, Mel and Simone read and discuss a quirky story from H.G. Wells, renowned for his work in science fiction including his novels War of the Worlds and The Time Machine.

This week we're discussing a Short Story Workshop exclusive - it's a story written by our host, Matt Bowles. Titled Poison, it's a dark horror story with romance elements.
