#TheShowKC for the last day of February 2018 was eventful. It started with a bad day for Truta. Listen as he tells the story of trying to get Jen's coffee. We decided then to open the vent line. Everything from ball pits to rude people figured into today's vents. There's a guy who is going to eat his 30,000th Big Mac. Is that cause for celebration? Really? Shaylee comes in for Gen-X vs Millennial and we get stuck on the names of the Spice Girls. Was there really a "Sexy" Spice? Or was Shaylee just trying to save points? Find out in today's SHOWcast...and see you tomorrow!
On today/s #TheShowKC: you get in the wrong car, you take your kid to the wrong house, you start rubbing the arm of a person you aren't married to...all of these flubs and more have happened to our listeners (and The Show). Today we share our stories. Plus, new allegations against Seacrest, Kelly Clarkson begins on the Voice, A round of Promotions Closet. Jen's Impossible Question. It's all here for Tuesday. See ya tomorrow@
Mike Kellar, Shaylee and Truta are back this week to talk about the big stories in Kansas City sports...with a healthy dose of sarcasm. This week we'll touch on the Marcus Peters trade, the FBI investigation into college basketball, Mizzou vs. South Carolina, spring training, the Olympics, the Oscars, soccer opening weekend and much more.
Welcome to Monday on #TheShowKC. We begin with an impossible question, as always... did anyone watch the finale of Celebrity Big Brother? It appears that Jen's pick of Ross Matthews came closest to winning - he took 2nd place. Prom is expensive and we're going to help ease some of the burden on kids and parents. Enter our Prom-posal contest at www.KC1021.com. We talk to Jason, an Uber driver, who was asked by a rider this weekend how much he liked the band Papa Roach. Jason replied with some choice words about the group, and then he found out just who was in his backseat. Listen for the story! We play a round of "Who Had The Lamest Weekend" on The Show, and a listener got Lorde tickets. See you all tomorrow!
Randy Reed, President of Reed Automotive Group and the chairman of the 2018 KC Auto Show talks with Truta about this year's event, which opens Wednesday at Bartle Hall.
#TheShowKC for Friday - our long nightmare is over, the kids are back in school. Jen's Impossible Question deals with Mom. Ed Sheeran the Royal Wedding figures into Entertainment News. Do guys really get excited for the Oscars, or is Truta a special case (don't answer that out loud!). What ever happened to...Stephanie Powers? Ricardo Montalban? Bonus points for people who saw that name and went "Khaaaaaaaaaannnn!" #Blessed with some great stories for the weekend. See you Monday!
On #TheShowKC today: another snow day for kids. Will they ever go back to school?? Of course the ice storm was on our minds. So was the Olympics, as we watched the Andy Reid looking dude take USA to the gold medal round in curling. We ask the listeners: what are the best ways to keep kids entertained during the snow day? A round of Think N Sync has us pondering our choices. We go down the rabbit hole of what Tom Green is up to lately. And more! See you for Friday's show!
Well, the kids are out of school again and #TheShowKC is for the adults in the room. Today, we're talking weather, the Wheel of Fortune, Truta tells bad stories, Kirstie Alley gets tangled up with the curlers. We got an e-mail from a guy whose neighbor set-up a Go Fund Me for their 16 year to raise money for a band trip. He thinks the kid should get a job. What do you think? The text line went bananas. A quick snow-day round of #Blessed for the mid-week had us with all the feels. We actually gave away Justin Timberlake tickets today, thanks to the Song of the Day. Shaylee comes in to play an Olympic-themed Gen-X vs. Millennial...and ALMOST wins. See you tomorrow!
Ice, ice everywhere on #TheShowKC today! School were closed, roads were a mess, and we tried to entertain you while you white-knuckled it to work. Jen's Impossible Question was nearly that, until someone pulled out one of the most recognizable smells in the world. Fergie apologizes in entertainment news. A cougar (the animal, not the JoCo housewife) was caught on a couple's home camera. We ask: what did you catch on camera at your house? The responses were, of course, hilarious. It's National Love Your Pet Day! More ice. Then it was time for two truths and a lie...Jen, Truta and Shaylee had to tell a story about injuring themselves and callers had to guess who was telling the truth. Great fun and prizes. Have a good, safe day -- see you tomorrow!
