The Show with Jen and Truta

We all woke up to a unseasonably warm morning on #TheShowKC. Planet ComicCon was this weekend, featuring John Cusack and Jason Momoa. We asked you: Who did you meet at ComicCon this weekend? It was great to hear from all of the fluttering hearts and tongue-tied fans. Fergie sang a very sultry, sexy, downright strange version of the Star Spangled Banner during the weekend's NBA All-Star game. We play it for you -- multiple times! A round of Think N Sync is Presidents Day related as we honor our Commanders in Chief. And another Olympian gives us the scoop on the "post-competition" party in the athletes village. Enjoy your Monday!

Enjoy a special mini-SHOWcast from #TheShowKC. As Planet ComicCon gets ready to launch in KC, Elite Supergirl came by to tell us about her friend Gabe, a great kid who recently passed away from cancer, and the awesome salute Comic Con is going to show Gabe this weekend!

The warm weather from yesterday is gone. Back to a cold snap for a sec. Jen's Impossible Question has us thinking about our music preferences. A big celebrity break-up in Entertainment News. We get your good news in today's #Blessed! Black Panther looks to be the biggest superhero movie...ever! Shaylee comes in for a round of Google Predicts. A Fun Friday on #TheShowKC. See you next week!

In the aftermath of Valentine's Day, we get the story of Eric and Tiffany. Eric used our radio station and the Love Song Special to propose to his girlfriend of 7 years. Jen and Truta get the scoop! Plus, we play a great round of Think In Sync!

What a time...we combine the Olympics, Ash Wednesday, puppy videos, single ladies and Valentine's Day all into one big show!

Another cold day in KC but #TheShowKC had things heating up with talk about speeding and getting pulled over. We found out Jen was once pulled over 14 times in a 6 month period. And got out of a ticket every. Single. Time. WHAT? It wasn't just enough for us to get on her case, though, because Jen's Dad called in to give her a piece of his mind as well. Remember, Jen's Dad was the Under Sheriff in KCK for a long time. He knows the drill. After that, it was your stories of getting pulled over (and out of tickets). Also on The Show: Elton John tickets; KU vs K-State; Grammys aftermath; Mister Rogers Neighborhood; and more!

Lots of talk about the 60th Grammys the night before. Bruno Mars was the big winner. Truta finally watched This Is Us. The Impossible Question was all about Disney World....we'd love for you to join us for our live broadcast week, July 30th-August 3rd this year. Check out Suitcase of Dreams at KC1021.com for all of the info. The prices are unbelievable!! We go for a round of #Blessed to find out who's having a great Monday. Then we called the winner of our Destination Disney trip. Carla and her daughters are going to have a great time in Orlando, Florida! Jen found out Truta loves to lick envelopes, so he helped out with the Elton John ticket giveaway game. Check us out tomorrow for more winners #TheShowKC!

Sadness all around on #TheShowKC today as Truta actually had to come to work after Johnson County cancelled his jury duty call, and Shaylee was mourning her Vikings after they lost to the Eagles in the NFC Championship. We catch up on last night's SAG Awards. There are a ton of concerts coming to Kansas City: the least of which is Billy Joel at Kauffman Stadium in September. We have tickets to give away all week long. Truta nearly got Shaylee busted on Friday as they were on the way to the Billy Joel announcement. Don't ever listen to your passenger -- especially if they tell you to make illegal turns! Shaylee watched an 80's movie over the weekend, so we got to quiz her on Better Off Dead. Truta doesn't like the movie much. In all access, P Diddy draws attention to the fact that the world has forgotten he was also on stage with Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson during the ill-fated "Booby"bowl half time show. And guess what? So was Nelly AND Kid Rock. What?? We didn't remember anything about those guys. Jen takes her microphone on the street to help us play a game for Billy Joel tickets. And the latest concert announcement is made: Hall and Oates with Train, coming to Sprint Center July 20th. See you tomorrow for much more giveaways!

The first new @TheShowKC of 2018! Happy new year! Hope everyone got the presents they wanted. We bring back Jen's Impossible Question. Entertainment News has the latest on the Mariah Carey "hot tea" meme. The Chiefs are going to the playoffs! We ask you: what did you do over the break? There is a lot of celebrity baby news. We talk to Jorji, a Gladstone teen who asked for tickets to "Lorde"...and instead received tickets from her parents to see Joel Osteen and hear about the "Lord." Great prank! She fills us in on what happened. Good stuff. Happy New Year! See you tomorrow!

A look back at some of our best guests and stories we covered on KC Closeup in 2017.
