Amelia Earhart dominated the conversation today, as it is all over the world. Researchers think she was alive and captured by the Japanese. Jen went from total skeptic when #TheShowKC began today, to believing somewhat, to now hosting a watch party for the documentary this Sunday. We also talk about baby names - did you know Amelia is #2 on the 2017 list of most popular baby names? Since when? We actually had the mom of an Amelia call in. Jen gives Truta a round of Google Predicts which, predictably, ended up awfully. More conspiracy theory talk and we're off to entertainment news. See you tomorrow!
We have recovered from the 4th of July! The impossible question dealt with vacation. What weird thing did you win? Kato Kaelin won a 50/50 raffle at a Brewers game. Turns out we've all won weird stuff. We play Gen-X vs Millennial. #TheShowKC
Happy early Independence Day, Kansas City! Today #TheShowKC celebrated early by taking calls about your holiday firework mishaps. Jen's sister called in to fact check our fake news. Tonight is a big show: Train with Natasha Bedingfield at Starlight Theater. We revisit our conversation with Natasha about selfies, her butt and writing for her brother. We got a Big Brother update courtesy of listener Christina (whom we woke up from vacation sleep). Half of the house is already in a showmance - or hookup. Shaylee updated us on the movie she watched over the weekend, Can't Buy Me Love. Next up, the Vacation films. Enjoy the holiday! Thank you to all who serve our great country! See you back live on Wednesday.
Somebody from #TheShowKC almost went home on night one of Big Brother! Listen to find out. The cast is super hungry for breakfast. Truta had a soggy banana. What did Trump say to the Chicago Cubs that was so funny? We chat about Big Brother, our favorites (and least favs). Tom Arnold called in to talk about Battle of the Network Stars, which premieres tonight. Jen's friend's kid destroyed mom's laptop. We ask you in the Snap Chat, what did your kids destroy? Hilarity ensues. Another round of celebrity news and we look forward to Friday!
Promotional announcement for KCKC Backyard Makeover 2017.
Morning show aircheck from KCKC Kansas City, "The Show with Jen and Truta" starring Jennifer Johnson, Bryan Truta, Shaylee "The Millennial" Henning and producer Joey Liccar.
Jen and Truta and their families saw Despicable Me 3 last night...and the kids loved it! Check it out Friday. In the Impossible Question, guys do this faster than women...listen for the answer. A Big Bang house burned down and Eric Stonestreet demonstrated his pig knowledge for Colbert. A new study from an insurance company says that KCK has the safest drivers in the nation. We all agree that Missouri drivers are the worst (Just kidding, Joey and Shaylee are from Missouri). Everyone had bad driver stories. We play a round of Gen-X vs Millennial and contestant Carol was one of the best we've had. Seacrest doesn't get his way in the All Access. Then it's time for #TheShowKC #BB19 #BigBrother Draft! Each cast member of The Show draws a Big Brother contestant...and it's a very #BB-esque punishment this season. Jen goes deep into the recesses of each cast member's social media for a game of "Who Tweeted It". Fine swines in the entertainment news and we end with an appeal for the Christmas in July Radiothon to benefit Variety Children's Charity of Kansas City. This year's radiothon is July 18th live from Mission Farms.
From #TheShowKC for Tuesday: Jen has the in-laws coming and is subjecting her whole house to a clean. Brides want wi-fi and wedding hashtags are horrible. Truta read from an e-mail his HOA sent out about people acting horrible at the pool. This is the neighborhood pool that everyone pays dues toward. Why are they trashing the place and throwing chairs in the pool?? Can we not have nice things, people? Others shared their stories of people destroying the community property at their apartments and neighborhoods. We play the Google Predicts game for Queen/Adam Lambert tickets. Our kids are infatuated with slime. We look back at Double Dare, Marc Summers and the great Nickelodeon slime of old.
#TheShowKC - Jen got to meet Weird Al! Hear the interview and how it happened right here! We play the Whisper Challenge for Adam Lambert tickets. The Show talks dentures...for some reason. Beyonce's twins. Shaylee watched Gremlins. Phil Collins update.
