The Signal Pres Podcast

This week on the podcast Abby and Joey are talking about spiritual disciplines: about what they are (and what they aren’t), about why we invite you into them, and about what’s coming next in our focus on prayer this year. We also have a special invite for you to join us on Nov 8 for our All Adult Formation on praying the prayer of examen, and also our Examen Retreat on November 20-21. Listen in to learn more about spiritual disciplines, inside scoops on the new Chattanooga Lookouts stadium, and the possibility of Abby gospel-singing an entire episode…

This week on the podcast we’re talking about a tough part of our Bibles: the conquest narrative in the book of Joshua. Our congregational Bible reading plan has us in Joshua, and it has us asking the question of how to understand God’s people taking possession of the Promised Land. Neither God nor the Bible are afraid of our tough questions, so we’re tackling this topic and reading the Scriptures closely to discern how we can understand this part of God’s Word. Listen in - and then you can also enjoy Abby singing her favorite VBS song…

This week on the podcast we’ve got a special treat for you… a returning guest, who is coming back on the show in a new position! It’s Bridget Lejeune, everyone’s favorite Cajun (or — according to Abby — Crejun?), returning in her brand new role as Director of Communications. We hear from Bridget about how she felt called to this role, what she’s doing, and how you can stay connected, and why her favorite date is April 25th. (Because it’s not too hot, not too cold. All you need is a light sweater.) Listen to all that and more!

The lion's roar contains oracles against 8 nations. But there is only one audience - Israel, who is reminded that if they act like the nations they get what the nations get. It's a reminder of the justice of God, and of the one way that he has always given to enjoy his mercy.
