What do we know about Jesus' childhood? The Gospels give limited information about Jesus' childhood. From His birth to the age of twelve, we have a few recorded scenes: His birth, circumcision, the visit of the wise men, the escape to Egypt to name a few. After that, we get a glimpse into His boyhood with Luke 2:52, which says, “And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man”. Jesus grew in wisdom, physically matured, and gained favor with God and people. During these silent years, He lived a normal human life, learning, working as a carpenter, and preparing for His future ministry. Jesus understands our experiences and struggles, having walked through them Himself.
