The Silver Scream

Welcome to the Silver Scream, a podcast where two friends watch some werewolf movies. Sometimes, a werewolf movie can be an episode of the hit Netflix series, Black Mirror. Today, we're talking about Season 6, Episode 4: Mazey Day. It's a 43 minute long film, so we spend a little time talking about the overall series, and share thoughts on the other episodes. Mazey Day is currently the lowest rated episode of the entire series, do we agree? Listen and find out!

Other topics of discussion: Jesse Plemons, hating on It: Chapter 2, and praising Sean Baker's film The Florida Project. Also Alyssa had a dream she met Tom Cruise, listen to find out more!

Welcome back to The Silver Scream, a podcast where two friends try and find some good werewolf movies. Today's film is an ambitious comedy from 2014, WolfCop. Written and directed by Canadian filmmaker, Lowell Dean, WolfCop tells the tale of a small-town, alchoholic cop named Lou Garou.

Welcome to the Silver Scream, a podcast where two friends talk about every werewolf movie. This is our 20th episode! Thanks for listening in on our journey throught werewolf cinema. Today we're discussing the film that inspired Alyssa to want to start this podcast!

Werewolf of Washington (1973) is directed by Milton Moses Ginsberg and stars Dean Stockwell. One thing we appreciate about this film is the man who made it. We take some time this episode to tell the story of Milton Moses Ginsberg career and legacy, a small tribute to an underappreciated indie filmmaker who really put himself into his work.

Milton Moses Ginsberg New York Times obituary: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/12/movies/milton-moses-ginsberg-dead.html

Milton's widow, Nina Posnansky, is an artist who is still working! Her work is really beautiful and we discuss her painting briefly during the episode. You can find her work on her website: http://www.ninaposnansky.com/

Near the end of the episode we talk a little bit about the embarrassment that is the HBO show, "The Idol" the article discussing the behind the scenes problems is from Rolling Stone: https://www.rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-movie-features/the-idol-hbo-next-euphoria-torture-porn-the-weeknd-sam-levinson-lily-rose-depp-blackpink-jennie-1234688754/

Welcome to the Silver Scream, a podcast where two women try to find some good werewolf movies. Today we brought our college degrees to the conversation as we discussed the 2014 Danish film, When Animals Dream. Directed by Jonas Alexander Arnby, this film follows in the footsteps of the Ginger Snaps before it.

Marie is starting a new chapter in her life. She lives on a small island with her parents and a small fishing community. Her mother suffers from a mysterious illness that leaves her in a catatonic state. Everyone on the island is wary of her family, which causes Marie to feel even more isolated. When she begins experiencing strange changes to her body, Marie begins to suspect everyone is hiding a secret from her.

We discuss the monstrous menstration trope within this episode and connect it to a real life organization that Alyssa is a proud supporter of. At the 01:13:45 timestamp, Alyssa goes into details about The Confident Girl Project. Check out: https://www.confidentgirlproject.org/

"The Confident Girl Project's mission is to raise awareness of the population of homeless and impoverished girls that need proper feminine hygiene products."

Welcome to the Silver Scream, a podcast where two friends watch all the werewolf movies we can! This week, we're discussing Among the Shadows from 2019. This film has it all...Brexit, The United States of Europe, First Lady Lindsay Lohan, a park in brussels, and so much more!

We will say above all else, this is a total rip-off of the Underworld series....but with political drama that doesn't make sense....this is where it all gets complicated.

Welcome to the Silver Scream, a podcast journey through every werewolf movie. Today we are joined by our friend Whitney who runs the horror film challenge: ohmyhorror.com

This week we're down in Louisiana on the hunt for a ravenous beast. Moon of the Wolf is a made for TV film from 1972. There were no subtitles! This movie may be based on a book, but it sure feels like a soap opera (for more reason than one)

Welcome to the Silver Scream, a podcast where two horror-obsessed friends try to find some good werewolf movies. This week we are discussing our first remake....the critically marred 2010 film, "The Wolf Man" directed by Joe Johnson. This film is a remake of the 1941 classic of the same name. Back when it first premiere in 2010, critics and audiences did NOT like what they were seeing...but what about now?

Listen as we discuss the pros, cons, and behind-the-scenes troubles surrounding this film. Maybe everyone was too harsh back then.....or maybe we just love a hot mess with daddy issues? Either way, we had some thoughts on this one!

This episode also features a brand new intro/outro that we hope you enjoy! You can follow us on twitter: https://twitter.com/morewerewolves and instagram @silverscreampod
