David loved God with his whole heart and whole being. He had an unwavering confidence in the Lord, and did not fear. The Psalms are full of his declaration about the goodness of God. In this episode, we talk about the one important thing David desired above all else, found in Psalm 27:4.
This episode continues our conversation about II Timothy 2:20-26. When we allow Him to, God refines us and purifies us, just like the process for refining gold. How cool is that? And it does not have to be as painful as the refining gold goes through, if we surrender and live a life well-pleasing to Him. We talk about how we run the race, and who we run the race with - and how to avoid wrong conversations.
Good relationships and spiritual growth can only come when we (the church) grow in maturity and recognize the difference between truth and error. Paul imparts the wisdom and revelation required for us to flourish in the life God desires for each one of us.
II Timothy 2: 15, 20-22
In this episode we dig into the different aspects of the soil of our hearts, as Jesus teaches in the parable found in Mark 4: 1-20. He desires that we would have well-tilled soil that can accept and nurture the seeds He sows through the Word. What is bad soil, and what is good soil? We chat about this and invite you to listen in.
In this episode, we chat about how God beautifully draws a picture of how our lives can be lived trusting in Him, and how committing to Him can free us from the cares of this short life here on earth.
In Acts 1:8, Jesus calls us to be witnesses of Him in all the earth. What does this mean to each one of us personally? Is He only speaking to the corporate church and missionaries, or is He speaking to each one of us individually? In this episode, we break this down to see exactly what Jesus meant when He said in John 17:18, "As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world."
Today's episode is a fun conversation about the "do this, not that" wisdom we find in Proverbs 15. We chat about several of the verses and how they provide us with practical ways of approaching life as believers.
Psalm 1 lays a great foundation for the entire book of Psalms. This short chapter shows us the path of truth, and also the path of destruction. It is a great reminder of the simple walk God provides for us, His children, if only we will heed His words.
If we were to ask God, "what is Your desire for fellowship among Jesus-followers?" how would He answer? Would it look like today's church? Fellowship is not walking out of church more lonely than when we walked in. It's not having superficial relationships with fellow believers. The answer lies in His Word - the place where He answers all of our questions.
Maintaining peace can be a challenge. A lot of times we can find it hard to walk in peace in this culture of Godlessness. We also contend with our own busyness and past negative experiences. We can train our minds to push the negative thoughts aside and replace them with simple disciplines that give us authority over our thoughts.
