The movie is about Ned Merrill (Lancaster), a unique man who decides to 'swim' from house-to-house via the backyard pools strung through his neighbourhood. With each pool he swims and each house he visits gives him - and the viewer - a new insight into his character and his ultimate fate.

William and Sebastian review one of William Friedkin's lesser efforts - THE GUARDIAN (1990). It's about an druidic goddess who sacrifices babies to a giant-tree monster. We talk about the special effects, how the film relates to Friedkin's other films and what we thought about this fun but dumb flick.
