The bums are back and they’re angry…angry about their terrible trip timing and current lack of snow. We SnAngry. This happens when spring conditions hit in February, but we’re going to find positivity and pre-joy in the hand we’ve been dealt.

Precipitation coming to the west and the east this weekend. As temperatures in the east are very warm for this time of year we might see some rain before it turns to snow.

The cold air will be moving through Saturday night in the north east producing some snow overnight into Sunday. Totals could reach up to 8 inches in northern Vermont and New York if, and that’s a big if, it gets cold enough quick enough.

Shifting focus to the west, today Utah and parts of norther Colorado are getting some snow making tomorrow look like a great day.

Sunday into Monday California will be getting some snow, but not quite as much as they have been getting with totals around 6 inches of new snow.

Monday night, the San Juan’s/ Southern Colorado will see some snow as well maxing out at near 8 inches at Wolf Creek.

Looking forward to later next week as temperatures cool off, the east could be seeing some more snow as well but it’s a bit too early to call

Utah got some great totals the past two days, Snowbird, Solitude, and Brighton breaking two feet.

California did good at week with several resorts getting 70+ inches. Some resorts have even extended their season.

The bums are back from their trip to Utah. While we didn’t have the 3 foot dumps that have been prevelant in the area this winter, we did have some epic runs, one sweet foot plus powder day and plenty of tips and experiences to share with our listeners.

With storm pushing through the North East late this week the skiing should be good for the weekend, although no new snow is on the horizon.

Lots of new snow coming for the west coast. Three storms are making their way through between now and early next week. They will be concentrated closer to the coast between Mammoth and Whistler. The temperature looks like it could be a little warm, so some of the lower elevations will be getting a little heaver snow and possibly even some rain.

The best bets for the west would be Mammoth and Tahoe where the elevations are a little higher so the threat of rain and wet snow is a little less concerning. The first snow will be coming Friday night into Saturday, the second round will be coming Sunday, but will be a concentrated more to the north in places such as Oregon, Washington, and BC. As that is happening Sunday, the first storm will have made its way east to the Idaho, Wyoming and Montana Region, with some possible snow stretching down to Utah. Similar to last week there is some high pressure sitting over the most of the west so things should be relatively calm for the time being.

Low pressure system moving through the North East on Thursday which will pull through some moisture (and hopefully snow) with it.

The snow for the east is likely to be most concentrated in Northern New York and Northern Vermont possibly making its way to the Southern part of Quebec. The snow could start as early as Thursday but the majority of it will fall between early Friday morning and Saturday morning. The resorts that are in the best location to receive this snow are between Sugarbush and Jay Peak.

The west will be relatively quiet for the next few days, after they have been spoiled these past few weeks.

Utah has been seeing some snow early this week. Powder Mountain got almost four feet in three days, Snowbasin and Brighton got almost 3 and a half in the same three days.

Over the past week, I have to say California takes the cake. Its position allowed three storms to move right over the parts of the state pretty much back-to- back-to- back. Bear Mountain got 120 inches (10 feet!) this week while Kirkwood and Mammoth both broke 100 inches.

Some of the East also got some snow these past few days, Whiteface getting 8 inches Tuesday.
