The Diet Diaries

The skills you need to feel at ease around food

Listen Later

Today’s episode is like a mini coaching session around the core skills you need to be working on to feel at ease around food and in your body.

I break this down into three categories: what, why and how.

What focuses on the nutrition part of eating-learning how to choose a protein, carb and a fat. Knowing what foods are what and how much you need of each.

Why focuses on learning the difference between hunger and cravings, understanding the physical sensations of hunger and fullness and then learning how to take action on what you feel.

How is all about the way that you eat-prioritizing eating, sitting at a table, eating without distractions, creating time to eat, choosing foods that you enjoy.

These are the skills that allow you to break up with dieting forever-because when you have these skills you no longer need to rely on the rules of a diet. You are able to make intentional choices around what you know works for YOU, not what some random diet or meal plan tells you to do.

We’ll be learning these skills in Eat with Ease-so if you feel like you’re reading for some support in making this change, I’d love to have you join us for my signature 6 week group coaching program.
