No matter what stage of life you are in, there are so many things we experience on a daily basis that make us wonder…is this normal?
Am I normal?
And then if you’re like so many of us, you spin in anxiety, worry and overwhelm thinking about how you’re probably the only one experiencing it, leading to feelings of shame, isolation, frustration and perhaps fear.
That’s exactly why I am beyond thrilled to have a conversation with my guest today, because she literally wrote the book about what is normal, what’s not and exactly what to do about all of it.
My guest today is the amazing Dr. Jolene Brighten, who is a hormone expert, nutrition scientist, and thought leader in women’s medicine.
I knew I had to have Dr. Brighten on the podcast, because my daughter, YES! my 19yr old daughter asked me if I had read Dr. Brighten’s latest book, Is this Normal?, because she was halfway through it and loving it.
The topics in this book and that we discuss in this episode are for everyone, at everystage of life, because you’re either a woman who may be experiencing things wondering if they are normal or you know a woman you care about who is.
In this episode we are taking the plunge, and stripping away all the myths, misconceptions and misinformation about sex, sexuality, and hormones, so that you’ll be able to answer the question…Is this normal, for yourself!

Are you tired of spending a sh*t ton of money on lotions, potions and procedures trying to achieve glowing skin and not seeing a return on your investment?
I get it, and you’re not alone.
Did you know the average American woman spends upwards of $250,000 or more on her appearance and yet studies show that less than 5% of women would consider themselves beautiful?
It’s frustrating, but there’s also an explanation for it that we strip down in this episode.

It was such a juicy conversation that dares to bare all and reveal the real secret to glowing skin that won’t cost you a dime. So I wanted to share it with you here on the podcast as well.
In this episode, you’ll hear myself and Dr. Sue as we peel back the layers of myths and misconceptions about what skincare is and what it isn’t, and how to get the best return on your skincare investments.
Dr. Sue McCreadie is Pediatrician and Breakthrough coach for midlife mamas. As a midlife Mama herself, Dr. Sue stumbled upon her second calling. She helps Mamas master their mental-emotional health, break through midlife mayhem, and live a fulfilling life – re-energized, empowered, and knowing their soulFULL way.

I was riding my Peloton this morning, and all of a sudden it hit me…
If I ever want to live the life of my dreams, I have to say F*** it to this.
You do too.
What do we need to say F*** it to?
Dreaming, visualizing, and fantasizing about your future self.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for having big dreams and ambitious goals and putting a plan into action to accomplish them. What I’m not for is consuming all our time and energy with these things at the expense of being in relationship with our present moment experience.
Life is lived in THIS moment.
Here. Now.
And if you’re always dreaming about what you’ll experience in the future, you gloss over what you’re experiencing now. And you’ll never experience the happiness, joy and contentment you dream about.
Saying F*** it to living in the future is the missing piece to lasting happiness.
When you stay present, you create space for joy.
This episode is personal, it’s important, and actionable, and most of all – it’s packed with techniques you can start using right now.
I hope this episode shifts your perspective in the way that it did mine, and makes you understand yourself a little bit better.
