  • Showtime's Series, ROADIES Peter Cambor Interview
PETER CAMBOR was born in Houston, Texas. After receiving his B.A. in English from Wesleyan University, Cambor moved to New York to pursue a career in acting. After two years of waiting tables, Cambor was accepted by the American Repertory Theater’s M.F.A. program at Harvard University and the Moscow Art Theatre in Russia. Upon completing the program, Cambor was cast in the Mark Taper Forum’s production of The Cherry Orchard, starring Annette Bening and Alfred Molina. During the production, a producer saw his performance and asked him to audition for the pilot of ABC’s Notes from the Underbelly, in which he was ultimately cast, starring opposite Jennifer Westfeldt. The series was picked up that summer and ran for two seasons. Cambor was next cast in CBS’s drama NCIS: Los Angeles as “Operations Psychologist Nate Getz.” He still appears as “Nate,” a recurring cast member. Other credits include Grace and Frankie, Wedding Band, Suits, Madam Secretary, Pushing Daisies and Numb3rs.
Now, the Summer hit series on Showtime, Roadies! Peter chats with Slacker!

  • Foghat Interview
Foghat began their career in 1971 as a bunch of rather unpretentious young Brits with an affection for American blues and '50s rock 'n' roll. By the middle of the decade, they had evolved into a major touring and recording act, playing a pumped-up brand of boogie-rock to arena-size audiences. Their looks grew flashier, their sound fattened and filled out, yet the roots-rock core of the band remained ever-present under the surface.
From the viewpoint of certain critics, Foghat unduly compromised their early blues-based approach in order to reap commercial rewards. Certainly, their mid-'70s hits ("Slow Ride," "Drivin' Wheel," "Stone Blue") were not aimed at the rock purists of the world. But it's also true that they continued to record traditional blues and R&B material throughout their years with Bearsville Records. In fact, Foghat's final albums on Bearsville reaffirmed their love for unadulterated, primal American music. The band latest Album, "Under The Influence" is as classic as the band itself! Slacker sits down with Roger Earl and Brian Bassett.

  • Pinky Swear Interview
Pinky Swear began with an amazing young man…
Mitch was nine years old when he was diagnosed with bone cancer. When he was in the hospital in December, he overheard the family next to him having a discussion that there would not be enough money for Christmas that year.
Mitch looked at his dad and said, "This isn't fair. How much money do I have in the bank?" His Dad, Steve, replied that he wasn’t sure, but they could find out. Mitch insisted that they go get it.
Steve helped Mitch into his wheelchair and took him to the bank. Mitch withdrew all the money he had in his savings account and put it envelopes for the kids on the pediatric oncology floor at the hospital. He signed each envelope, "Love Mitch. XOXOXO"
Steve and Mitch returned to the hospital and delivered the envelopes by putting them on nightstands, under doors and on beds. As they were leaving the last room, Mitch exclaimed to his dad, "Dad, that is the most fun I have ever had! Let’s do it again next year!"
Steve sadly replied, "Mitch, you are probably not going to be here next year." Unfortunately, Mitch's prognosis was not good.
Mitch asked his dad to do it again next year and Steve agreed.
Mitch looked at his father and said, "Dad, promise me you will keep helping kids with cancer! Pinky swear with me that you will do it forever!"
Steve did a pinky swear with Mitch to help kids with cancer as long as he lives. Mitch passed away on April 11 the following spring. The Pinky Swear Foundation was formed. We exist today because of that pinky swear!
It is hard to imagine what life is like to have a child going through cancer; cancer affects the whole family. That's why our programs are so important. We do not limit requests from families, nor discriminate on socioeconomic status. When cancer enters life, the simple, everyday things aren’t so simple anymore.
The Pinky Swear Foundation aims to ease the financial and emotional impacts experienced by children with cancer and their families by providing basic needs support and during a very challenging time.

  • Former Cheap Trick Drummer Bun E Carlos Interview
It was back in the ‘70s when Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos first had the idea of cutting an album of his favorite songs with the help of his rock ‘n’ roll pals — late AC/DC singer Bon Scott is one of the most prominent names he was hoping to work with. It didn’t happen at that time, but decades later, Carlos has marked the idea off his list with the recent release of Welcome to Bunezuela!, his debut solo album. • Alice In Chain's, William DuVall Interview
Although never officially disbanding, Alice in Chains was plagued by extended inactivity from 1996 onwards due to Layne Staley's substance abuse, which resulted in his death in 2002. The band reunited in 2005 for a live benefit show, performing with a number of guest vocalists. They toured in 2006, with William DuVall taking over as lead vocalist full-time. The new line-up released the band's fourth studio album, Black Gives Way to Blue, in 2009. The album received gold certification by the RIAA. • Marc Cohn Interview
After winning a GRAMMY for his soulful ballad “Walking in Memphis,” Marc Cohn solidified his place as one of this generation’s most compelling singer/songwriters, combining the precision of a brilliant tunesmith with the passion of a great soul man. He’s a natural storyteller, balancing the exuberant with the poignant, and able to distill universal truth out of his often romantic, drawn-from-life tales.
Cohn followed up his platinum-selling debut with two more releases in the 1990s, at which point TIME magazine called him "one of the honest, emotional voices we need in this decade" and Bonnie Raitt declared, "Marc is one of the most soulful, talented artists I know. I love his songs, he's an incredible singer, and I marvel at his ability to mesmerize every audience he plays for."
Raitt, James Taylor, David Crosby, Graham Nash and Patty Griffin all made guest appearances on Cohn's early records for Atlantic, as his reputation as an artist and performer continued to grow. In 1998, Cohn took a decade-long sabbatical from recording, ending in 2007 with Join The Parade. Inspired by the horrific events following Hurricane Katrina and his own near fatal shooting just weeks before, Parade is his most moving and critically acclaimed record to date.
About his album Listening Booth: 1970, a collection of reimagined classics from that seminal year in music, Rolling Stone said, "Cohn has one of rock's most soulful croons - a rich immediately recognizable tenor that makes these songs his own." In late 2014, Cohn released, “The Coldest Corner in the World,” the title song to the documentary Tree Man and his first original song released in more than seven years.
On March 25, 2016, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of his platinum-selling debut album, Marc proudly released Careful What you Dream: Lost Songs and Rarities and the bonus album, Evolution of a Record, featuring never-before-heard songs and demos dating back to years before his debut and the Grammy Award that followed.
In addition to releasing new music, Marc has put together a 25th anniversary concert tour where he is performing his debut record in its entirety from start to finish. To make these shows even more intimate, photographs and video from Marc's personal archives will be shown, allowing fans to not only hear the music that has become part of their own personal soundtrack, but to also see some of the people and places that populate those songs. Slacker Chats with Marc Cohn.

  • Joe Walsh Interview
When writer Cameron Crowe profiled Joe Walsh for Rolling Stone magazine in 1975, he wrote that Joe “stands surely among rock and roll’s finest guitarists.” And no wonder. By then Joe’s fans already included guitar icons Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page. “I don’t listen to many records,” Clapton said, “but I listen to his.” Page talked of Joe’s “tremendous feel” for the guitar, adding, “I’ve loved his style since the early James Gang.”
Of course, that was even before Joe joined the Eagles and made indelible contributions to the great American pop culture canon on such songs as “Hotel California” and “Life in the Fast Lane,” and, more recently, became an honorary member of the Foo Fighters.
Joe Fidler Walsh was born in Wichita, Kansas, on November 20, 1947. His mother was an avid piano player who brought music into the family’s humble home before Joe was old enough to discover rock n’ roll on the radio. When Joe was still young, he and his family relocated to Ohio, New York City, and then Montclair, New Jersey. In 1965 Joe landed back in Ohio at Kent State University, where his professional music career began in coffee shops and bars. At 68, He shows no sign of slowing down and he chats with Slacker about life after the Eagles.
