Two people have been shot by police in Far North Queensland. Authorities were called to an address in Mount Sheridan, a suburb of Cairns, just after 5pm, after reports of a man armed with knives.

Police say they attempted to engage the man before he was shot by officers. A woman was also shot during the altercation.

An injured officer was dragged 100 metres to safety by his hero colleagues, one of whom is understood to have driven the ambulance carrying his injured mate to Maryborough hospital while paramedics treated him in the back.

A Queensland judge just did something extraordinary.During sentencing, a defence barrister tried to minimise a grown man’s sexual act with a 14‑year‑old child by saying it “only lasted five minutes.”

The judge stopped him.And then he stopped the entire courtroom.

“Sit down for five minutes… starting now.”

He made everyone sit in silence for the same amount of time the offender abused that child.

That’s not theatrics — that’s moral clarity.That’s a judge refusing to let evil be softened or sanitised.

Parents, churches, counsellors, police, advocates, researchers, survivors — everyone has been warning about the consequences long before OnlyFans even existed. But now the Courier Mail is acting like they’ve uncovered a shocking new truth.
