The Slippery Slope To A Metabolic Slowdown

In this episdode, we're talking about metabolic dysfunction and how it increases with age, even as metabolic rate remains the same.

Metabolic dysfunction is the inability of the aging body to process and regenerate tissue with breathtaking efficiency as it did in our youth.

 Unfortunately, this metabolic dysfunction slows cellular detox processes, promotes low grade inflammation, which leads to insulin resistance, hormone receptor activity decreases, which creates more muscle loss, fat accumulation, bone loss.

In my clinic, the 3 actions that I have seen produce the best results are:

  • Intermittent fasting
  • Strength training
  • A food routine rich in protein, fruits, and vegetables

If you are doing these things and feel like you are still falling behind in your metabolism then you may want to look into whey protein, essential amino acid therapy, and berberine.
