To paraphrase Thin Lizzy, the chaps are back in town (the studio). What do they discuss? Well, there's some international politics, some Asian news, and some sinkholes - just the normal kind of noise you're used to hearing from us, so roll up your sleeves and get stuck up to the elbow in the Slump.

The podcast had to be recorded earlier this week as some of the team are going on holiday for a bit. Before that though, Dan and Brendan got into a small studio and recorded themselves talking about some stuff they'd read. It's shorter than a normal Slump, and there are fewer people, but it works almost as well as a normal one.

The sun was shining and it was a lovely day, so we got out of the studio and went to Slump outside instead. What does this mean? Not a great deal, except that we don't talk over music and at certain points there's an interruption as a man wheels a noisy contraption past. There was some live hipster watching though.

Right then, another Friday brings another Slump - this week there's no particular theme, other than the usual merry making and piss-taking, a bit of audio, a couple of news stories, but let's be honest - nobody actually listens to this to get the news on a specific topic anyway, so who cares? Nobody, that's who. Now stop worrying about it and have a bloody good listen...

We've been trying to theme the podcast each week, but sometimes it doesn't really fit into a neat category, so this week is the Easter-and-taking-the-piss-out-of-adverts-and-some-other-stuff. Then at the end it gets so confusing that no theme could really make sense of it.

This week it's a thorough cultural examination of where we are in the world. That, and just taking the piss out of things we think are funny.

In a weak effort to get more listeners, the team have launched an unusual initiative - to encourage people to get involved. To the untrained ear, it might sound simply like begging for attention, but we assure you it's much more nuanced than that.

Recently, we've been theming each podcast, but this week it isn't themed. Is that because of the sheet diversity of topics covered? Not at all, it's simply because we forgot. This week the Slump team discuss Asia, (sort of). Well, there's mentions of Japan, North AND South Korea, and Chinese New Year, so that's a large part of the continent. Anyway, who cares, it's not like you download this for the factual content do you?

This week the theme is about people being weird. To be honest, a lot of times that's sort of what this podcast is about anyway, so I wouldn't bother getting thinking about it too much. I mean, who cares anyway, it's only a bit of fun innit?
