The Slumpbuster

Welcome in Slumpbusters! In this edition of the Slumpbuster Podcast, Kyle and Ju-Ju talk some of the biggest headlines in the NFL, MLB and College Football.

We start off today's podcast on a somber note as we give our reaction to the tragic Henry Ruggs III story. Ruggs was involved in a high-speed motor accident that resulted in the death of a 23-year old woman. Ruggs has since been charged with felony DUI resulting in death. Following the incident the Las Vegas Raiders made the decision to immediately release Ruggs. Ruggs posted bail on Thursday. #HenryRuggsIII

Our next topic is on a cheerier note as we discuss the Atlanta Braves winning the World Series. We give our flowers to the Braves as we discuss them breaking the long talked about Atlanta sports curse. The Braves were led by World Series MVP Jorge Soler, Austin Reilly and longtime first basemen Freddie Freeman. What does the future hold for the Braves following their first World Series victory since 1995? (12:00) #Braves

The NFL Trade Deadline was this past Tuesday and while it was a quiet deadline there were still some notable stories. Von Miller was traded to Los Angeles, will the Rams 'all-in' approach continue to prove successful? Odell Beckham Jr. was not traded, what is his future with the Cleveland Browns? What can we expect moving forward between Deshaun Watson, the Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins following his refusal to settle his civil suits to aid a trade to Miami? (19:45) #NFLNews

Before diving back into NFL topics the guys give their reaction to the first College Football Playoff poll that was released this past Sunday. The CFP committee ranked the teams as follows 1. Georgia Bulldogs, 2. Alabama Crimson Tide, 3. Michigan State Spartans and 4. Oregon Ducks. On the outside looking in were the Ohio State Buckeyes, Oklahoma Sooners and Cincinnati Bearcats. Can any of these teams, including Wake Forrest, make a legitimate run at the National Championship? (36:30) #CollegeFootball

Lastly the guys give their week nine NFL Predictions on the following five games (53:00):

Cleveland Browns (+2.5) @ Cincinnati Bengals

Minnesota Vikings (+6.0) @ Baltimore Ravens

Arizona Cardinals (+2.0) @ San Francisco 49ers

Green Bay Packers (+7.5) @ Kansas City Chiefs

Tennessee Titans (+7.0) @ Los Angeles Rams

Will Aaron Rodgers absence affect the Packers as they travel to Arrowhead? Will Kyler Murray suit up against the Niners? How will the TItans generate offense without Derrick Henry?

Enjoy the Show!

Welcome in Slumpbusters! On this edition of the Slumpbuster Fantasy Football Podcast our special guest is Chris McConnell of the Roto Bros Podcast. Chris, Ju-Ju and Drew recap week eight of the NFL and what fantasy owners should know heading into the rest of the season with several key injuries.

Quarterback: Kyler Murray has been electric throughout all of 2021. However, in the Thursday Night Football game against the Packers Murray injured his ankle. According to reports, Murray could be sidelines for 1-3 weeks. Jameis Winston on the other hand will be out the remainder of the season after suffering a ACL tear against his former team the Buccaneers. Who are some quarterbacks that can step in for these guys in your starting lineup? How worried are we about the struggling Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert? Should you trade Jalen Hurts now following his first truly bad game of the season?

Running Backs: This segment is dominated by the biggest injury to the biggest star back. Derrick Henry suffered a broken foot that will likely keep him out the remainder of the regular season and potentially a Titans playoff run. Henry will be replaced by a tandem of Adrian Peterson and Jeremy McNichols. Will either Peterson or McNichols be worth owning out of Tennessee? Who is the lead back in the Eagles backfield, Kenneth Gainwell, Boston Scott or Jordan Howard? Is Mark Ingram worth playing against the Falcons?

Wide Receivers: Calvin Ridley shocked everyone when he delivered a cryptic message about stepping away from football for his mental health. There is a lot of speculation regarding Ridley's future in the NFL. Is there a wide receiver that can replace his production in Atlanta? Is Julio Jones a Top-36 receiver without Henry in the offense? Does Jarvis Landry have anything left in the tank?

We close by giving some DST streamers of the week. If you have any fantasy questions, feel free to comment below. Enjoy the show!

Welcome in Slumpbusters! On today's episode Kyle & Ju-Ju have a loaded slate of topics to discuss. We breakdown the World Series so far, the biggest game in college football this season, update Kyle's NBA power rankings and preview NFL Week 8.

We start off by addressing the Bengals moving to 5-2 following a big win in Baltimore. Can the Bengals sustain this early season success and make a run in this years playoffs?

Charlie Morton pitched in game one of the World Series but had to unfortunately depart due to a broken leg. Morton didn't initially leave the game after the injury, he stayed in to retire the next three batters McCormick, Maldonado and Altuve. Morton's Braves would take home field advantage away from the Houston Astros in the World Series.

College Football has an incredible game as two undefeated teams in the Big-10 conference will play this weekend. Jim Harbaugh's Michigan Wolverine's team will take on Mel Tucker's Michigan State Spartans. Both programs are 7-0 which is the best record both schools will entire with in the history of their football programs. Sparty is led by Heisman candidate Kenneth Walker. Walker had over 900 yards on the ground for the Spartans and nine rushing touchdowns. Not to be outdone Michigan has a dynamic running game featuring Blake Corrum and Hassan Haskins. Will the difference lie in coaching, quarterback play or the defenses when these instate rivals battle for potentially a spot in this years College Football Playoffs? #B1GConference

We preview the following games in our next segment:

Pittsburgh Steelers (+4) @ Cleveland Browns

Tennessee Titans (-1) @ Indianapolis Colts

New England Patriots (+5.5) @ Los Angeles Chargers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-5.5) @ New Orleans Saints

Dallas Cowboys (-3) @ Minnesota Vikings

We close up by taking a look at Kyle's NBA Power Rankings. Who will be the biggest riser / biggest faller after the first couple weeks. Are the Chicago Bulls a Top-10 team? Has Milwaukee leap frogged Brooklyn for the number one spot? Are the Celtics going to tread water in the NBA's middle tier again this season?

Should you be concerned about upcoming backfield splits? We answer these questions and more.

Quarterbacks (7:00): Lamar Jackson will be on bye in week eight, who are some potential lineup fill ins for the former MVP? Deshaun Watson's name has come up once again in the trade market. Which potential trade destination is best for Watson's value, Carolina, Philadelphia or Miami? Jalen Hurts has been one of the best redraft quarterbacks in 2021 but should dynasty owners use this as their sell now opportunity? Carson Wentz has been playing at an elite level for the Colts recently, is he a Top-10 quarterback moving forward? #FantasyFootball

Running Backs (20:00): Myles Gaskin has spurned his fantasy owners with elite performances on benches everywhere. Is Gaskin finally going to be a reliable fantasy asset moving forward? D'Ernest Johson made the most of his opportunity with both Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt out of the lineup. Will Johnson still have a role with Chubb returning against the Steelers? What about Khalil Herbert with the expected return of David Montgomery? The New England Patriots had three Top-13 running backs in week seven but who is getting the touches in week eight? #FantasyFootballAdvice

Wide Receivers (32:00): The Green Bay Packers locker room has seen a spike in COV-19 cases. Meaning Aaron Rodgers will be without pass catchers Allen Lazard and Davante Adams. Is there any value in Randall Cobb or other Packers pass catchers? Is it time to cut Allen Robinson, Tyler Boyd and Odell Beckham Jr.? Can Jarvis Landry be a reliable fantasy receiver rest of season? #DailyFantasySports

Welcome in Slumpbusters! On today's episode Kyle and Ju-Ju take on the biggest breaking news from the NBA, College Football and the NFL. Enjoy our predictions and speculation surrounding a very active sports week.

The sports weekend was buzzing after a couple popular internet target added cannon fodder to the arsenal. Patrick Mahomes brother Jackson, of TikTok fame, came under fire for an inappropriate TikTok at the Chiefs-Washington game. Washington deemed the game in tribute of the late Sean Taylor, painting Taylor's retired number in a VIP section of the stadium. Jackson, purposefully or not, decided to post a video of him dancing on the numbers. Was the Twitter outrage justified?

The second target of scorn this weekend was Seahawks safety Jamaal Adams. Adams made history by becoming the highest paid Safety in NFL history a year removed from being acquired for a huge haul by Seattle. Adams had a very memable moment when a potentially game altering interception bounced off his facemask in the Seattle-Pittsburgh game. Does Adams deserve this criticism of his game?

We transition our talks in the National Basketball Association with our next segment. Ben Simmons surprised many when he showed up Philadelphia's training camp, albeit late. Simmons has been very vocal about his desire to play anywhere besides Philadelphia. Things escalated when a disinterested Simmons was told to leave 76ers practice by head coach Doc Rivers. This came after Simmons refused to participate in a drill Rivers asked him multiple times to join. Teammate Joel Embiid added gasoline to the fire with his post-practice press conference. What is the next steps between Philly and Simmons? Who will trade for the all-star point guard?

We do a quick recap of college football before going NFL. Ed Orgeron just two seasons after winning a National Title at LSU will not be returning to Baton Rouge in 2022. This news broke after a scathing article with multiple sources was released by the Athletic. Who will be the next Tigers head football coach? Kyle Ledbetter correctly called the Purdue upset of Iowa, hear his thoughts and gloats of victory. Also, what is weirder to bring to a football game, a golf ball or a full bottle of yellow mustard? We discuss!

We end by giving our NFL Week 7 Preview, Enjoy!

Kansas City Chiefs (-4.5) @ Tennessee Titans

Indianapolis Colts (+4.0) @ San Francisco 49ers

Detroit Lions (+16.0) @ Los Angeles Rams

Chicago Bears (+11.5) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Cincinnati Bengals (+6.5) @ Baltimore Ravens

It is once again time to bust your Fantasy Football slump with the Slumpbuster Podcast. On today's episode Andrew Hagenbaugh and Julian "Ju-Ju" Martinez review week six and how your favorite players are performing on the season. #FantasyFootball #FantasyFootballAdvice #WaiverWire

Quarterback: Several important QBs are out this week including Dak Prescott, Justin Herbert and Josh Allen. Who are some streaming options that can help fantasy football GMs navigate through week seven?

Running Back: Kareem Hunt will join Nick Chubb on the sidelines as both star running backs are injuries in Cleveland. Can D'Ernest Johnson be a solid fill-in for a tumbling Browns roster? Does Khalil Herbert maintain value even with Damian Williams returning from the COVID reserve list?

Wide Receiver: Tyler Boyd has been negatively impacted by the return of Tee Higgins. Is Boyd still start worthy when all three Bengals wide receivers are healthy? Jarvis Landry and Michael Thomas are set to return from the IR. Will Thomas or Landry be game changers from day one back in owners lineups?

Welcome in Slumpbuster to another episode of the Slumpbuster Podcast. On today's episode we welcome on special guest Kendra Middleton. Kendra is a reporter for NESN and host for Dirty Water Media. In addition Kendra also host her own female driven sports podcast Saturdays N Seltzers. On today's podcast we discuss Kendra's Jacksonville Jaguars, the end of the San Francisco Giants season and why she is labeled 'the villain' of Boston based sports. Enjoy the show!

We start things off by discussing the San Francisco Giants improbable season. In April the Giants were given a 1% chance of winning the NL West. Despite this the team rallied to a historic 107-win record shattering all other team records. Unfortunately for the Giants, their season came to a close in a decisive game five against their longtime rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers. Kendra and Ju-Ju discuss the season that was and the controversial calls surrounding the series closing game. #Giants

As a reporter for the New England Sports Network, Kendra covers all things Boston sports. This has not always ingratiated herself to a diehard fanbase. How did Kendra earn her nickname in the New England area? Have the Red Sox changed her mind following a surprising run to the ALCS? What does Kendra think of Mac Jones and his future with the Patriots? #RedSox

Kendra is a diehard Jacksonville Jaguars fan so naturally we discuss the latest happenings with her favorite franchise. Head Coach Urban Meyer has been under fire for his decision to not fly back with his team following a loss. In addition Meyer's Jaguars are on the longest losing streak in NFL history. Will Meyer retain his job in Jacksonville in 2022? What is the future for Trevor Lawrence? Is it time for Shad Khan to sell the team before he moves it full-tie to London? #Jaguars

Great show, great guest. Follow Kendra at all of her social medias listed below!

Welcome in Slumpbusters! On today's episode Kyle and Ju-Ju take on the biggest breaking news from the world of Major League Baseball and the National Football League. Enjoy our predictions and speculation surrounding a very active sports week.

We start off the show talking about the Padres opening at the managerial spot following the release of Jayce Tingler. Prior to the 2021 season, the San Diego Padres were expected to be competing for the NL West and even a World Series pennant. Following a 79-83 finish, Tingler was the first head to roll. Now with an open position who will the Padres hire? Bruce Bochy? Ron Washington? Buck Showalter? (3:45)

We stick with the baseball talk as we discuss the latest happenings in the 2021 MLB Postseason. The Atlanta Braves put away the Milwaukee Brewers following an impressive late homer by Freddie Freeman off one of the leagues best closers in Josh Hader. With an NLCS opponent yet to be determined we turn our attention to our ALCS preview. The Boston Red Sox managed to pull the upset and beat AL East rival Tampa. While on the other side of the bracket the Houston Astros dispatched of the White Sox in Chicago. Will the Red Sox be able to outslug the Astros or is Houston truly the best team in the American League? (9:15)

The next big thing we jump into is the controversy surrounding former Raiders head coach Jon Gruden. Following a series of offensive emails to Bruce Allen, Gruden made the decision to resign from his position with the Las Vegas Raiders. Was this a justified decision? What does the future hold for Gruden and the Raiders? How do we reintegrate the "cancelled" back into a civil society? Enjoy this discussion as we give our most nuanced take on this very serious subject. (28:00) #JonGruden #Raiders #Raidernation

We also give our usual NFL Week 6 Preview and Predictions:

Miami Dolphins (+3) @ Jacksonville Jaguars - London, UK (20:30)

Las Vegas Raiders (+3.5) @ Denver Broncos (56:00)

Arizona Cardinals (+3) @ Cleveland Browns (1:01:00)

Los Angeles Chargers (+3) @ Baltimore Ravens (1:07:00)

Green Bay Packers (+4.5) @ Chicago Bears (1:13:00)

It is once again time to bust your Fantasy Football slump with the Slumpbuster Podcast. On today's episode Andrew Hagenbaugh and Julian "Ju-Ju" Martinez review week five and how your favorite players are performing on the season. #FantasyFootball #FantasyFootballAdvice #WaiverWire

Quarterback: Russell Wilson hurt his finger in the Thursday Night game against the Rams. Wilson is reportedly scheduled to miss 6-8 weeks following surgery. How does this affect weapons like Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf? Who are some streaming options at quarterback that will elevate your team in week 6? Joe Burrow against Detroit? Taylor Heinicke against Kansas City? or Trevor Lawrence facing the Dolphins in London?

Running Backs: Clyde Edwards-Helaire suffered a knee injury Sunday night. Is Darrell Williams a capable enough backfield to fill in the CEH's role? Myles Gaskin had a breakout performance in week five but is he trustworthy moving forward? Alvin Kamara, Cordarelle Patterson and Elijah Mitchell are on bye week, who can you get to replace their production?

Wide Receiver: Kadarius Toney had a breakout performance in the Giants week five game against Dallas. Assuming the 2021 first round pick is not facing disciplinary action what is the rookies upside? Similar to Gaskin, Robert Woods has been a struggling fantasy star in 2021. This week Woods had an impressive 15 target outing but does this mean Woods is back to being an automatic start? Is it finally time to cut bait on a guy like Allen Robinson? Who is the best Cardinals wide receiver?

Enjoy the show!

Welcome in Slumpbusters! On today's episode Kyle and Ju-Ju have a loaded podcast discussing the Yankees early postseason exit, previewing the NL and AL divisional series and predictions in college football & the NFL. Enjoy!

First thing we discuss the Yankees loss in the American League Wild Card game. New York spent big at the deadline acquiring stars Joey Gallo and Anthony Rizzo. Despite this, it wasn't enough to overcome their longtime nemesis the Boston Red Sox. Boston won the contest 6-2 and is currently battling the Rays. Can the Yankees retool this offseason and what are some necessary moves? #MLBPostseason

Moving away from eliminated team the guys focus on who remains. Will the Red Sox be able to carry their momentum against the defending AL Champion Rays? Are the Brewers and their vaunted pitching staff on upset alert against a hot Braves team? Will the Houston Astros prove they are the best team in baseball when they compete against the Chicago White Sox?

College football has seen a lot of incredible upsets this season and because of that two Big-10 teams find themselves in the AP Top-5 rankings. The Penn State Nittany Lions will travel to Kinnick Stadium to battle the Iowa Hawkeyes. Will either of these teams remain when the final CFB Playoff Poll is announced? #CollegeFootball

In our last segment we preview these five key matchups from week five in the NFL:

New York Jets (+2.5) @ Atlanta Falcons - London

Green Bay Packers (-3.0) @ Cincinnati Bengals

San Francisco 49ers (+5.0) @ Arizona Cardinals

Cleveland Browns (+2.0) @ Los Angeles Chargers

Buffalo Bills (+2.5) @ Kansas City Chiefs
