I was watching a YouTube video by Anami Shall-Holma about her boarding school experience in Nigeria and was a bit surprised by the similarities in our experiences even though decades apart. Furthermore, I was surprised about how we both have validated the trauma we went through as a right of passage. Trauma that for many that is never truly addressed.
