Today, we're going to talk about the five essential steps for onboarding a new client in a freelance social media marketing business. Onboarding is a critical phase that sets the foundation for a successful partnership. So, let's dive into the steps to make your onboarding process a breeze.
Resources and Tools Mentioned:
PayPal – how I send invoices (they charge a small fee, but I like using PayPal because you can set up recurring invoices)
PandaDoc – how I send invoices for clients to sign (they have a free version!)
Jotform – website I use to create my onboarding questionnaire (they also have a free version!)
Social Media Strategy Document – can be created in Google Docs, you don't need a fancy Canva template unless you really want to create it
Content Calendar – Asana, Trello, Notion, Monday, ClickUp, AirTable (these are all great project management tools) or you could even go as basic as a Google Doc or Spreadsheet! Totally up to you and what you prefer.
Social Media Schedulers – I didn't touch on this as much, but optional if you'd like to use a tool to auto-publish the content! I've used brands like Later, Loomly, Hootsuite, Buffer, HeyOrca – I recommend doing your research and finding one you like the best! Got questions? Shoot me a DM on social media!
