🎧 Episode Summary:
In this episode of The Solo Grind, I’m talking about something I know all too well: going completely over the top when you’re excited about something you love. From over-the-top kid lunches and 3D Swiss Macarons, to launching Season 3 of this podcast with BIG ideas—I ALWAYS HAVE something big in the works!
But somewhere between new gear, video mishaps, and the pressure to be spectacular, I realized I was chasing perfection instead of staying true to what this podcast is really about: honest, encouraging conversations about being a solo entrepreneur.
If you’ve ever felt like your to-do list is running you, or like you're drowning in good ideas that somehow turned into a tangled mess—tune in my friend, because you are not alone!
I am getting real about the curse of the overachiever, how to recognize when you’re doing too much, and to survive those overachiever tendencies without losing your spark!
What I hope you take away from this episode:
☕ Doing more doesn’t always mean doing better
☕ You don’t need fancy tools or over-the-top content to make an impact
☕ The pressure to overachieve is real—and it’s okay to pull back
☕ You’re allowed to set boundaries with your own ideas
☕ A clear focus and a few simple shifts can help you move forward with more clarity and less chaos

Here are 8 signs you might be doing too much.
☕ You’re constantly busy, but nothing feels truly done
☕ You start a lot of things, but finishing feels like a struggle
☕ You can’t remember the last time you took a full day off
☕ The thought of scaling back makes you feel guilty
☕ You’ve got multiple systems, plans, and tools in place—but still feel disorganized
☕ Your to-do list feels like it’s running you, not the other way around
☕ You’re chasing ideas faster than you can act on them
☕ The joy’s gone—and everything feels like a giant struggle
Your Overachiever Survival Guide: Tips for Keeping Your Ambition in Check
☕ Pick one big thing at a time. You can dream big and still move intentionally. Focus doesn’t mean playing small—it means honoring the ideas you actually want to bring to life.
☕ Set “enough” goals. What’s enough for today, this week, this season? Not ideal. Not maximum. Just enough.
☕ Create a pause point. Before adding anything new, pause and ask:
– Is this solving a problem or adding one?
– Do I have the bandwidth and desire to do this well?
☕ Do a weekly review. Not just what you did—but how you felt doing it. What drained you? What lit you up? Adjust from there.
☕ Practice digital boundaries. Close the tabs. Pick one tool. Let your brain breathe.
☕ Celebrate tiny wins. Don’t wait for the launch or the big revenue month. Celebrate showing up. Sending the email. Recording the podcast. Forward is forward.
