We can't think of a better way to celebrate Memorial Day on our podcast than by posting one of the last, if not the last, interview Lt. Col. Dick Cole ever did. Lt. Col. Cole was the last surviving member of the Doolittle Raid of World War 2. The Doolittle Raid, also known as the Tokyo Raid, was America's initial response to the attack on Pearl Harbor.  

Lt. Col. Cole passed away this past April 9, only nine days before the 77th anniversary of the Doolittle Raid.

The interview is conducted by Alan Wakim. Along with Lt. Col. Cole was his daughter, Cindy Chal.

Dustin Bass recently sat down with our first intern, Nick Perez. Labeled #NickTheIntern during Episode 1 on the American Revolution YouTube series, Nick is officially in the process of joining the US Marines Corps. He has sworn in and is preparing to go to boot camp in a few months.

We sat down to discuss why he chose the Marines from all the other branches, and why he chose to go into the military in the first place. We also discuss his grandfather, John Perez, a Korean War veteran who passed away in the summer of 2018.

It was a huge shock to most people when video footage was shown of the Cathedral of Notre Dame burning. Construction on the cathedral began in 1160 and was completed 100 years later. So much history has taken place there, it would be a shame not to restore it (although it will never be the same). Some people have shown their disdain for any type of religiosity, and The Sons of History tackle all of it. From the history of the cathedral, to its current state, and the state that France finds itself in with so many desecrations taking place with Christian and Catholic churches.

This conversation is about religious liberty and preserving the world's history.

Hollywood entertainers continue to revel in their own political brilliance and some really do go too far in very idiotic fashion. For Dustin Bass and Alan Wakim, there are some entertainers who can go as far as they wish (well, at least in theory).

The Sons of History take a moment to have a little fun and bring across a lighter side. The Sons of History have assembled their list of entertainers who they would never boycott because, well, they're just so darn wonderful.

The Electoral College has been questioned from the creation of the Constitution. The Federalists argued for it and we continue to debate it today. It is definitely a conversation worth having. Senator Elizabeth Warren has advocated doing away with it, but The Sons of History think she may be advocating an impossibility and something that would be worse than the current system. The Founding Fathers knew the system wasn't perfect and nothing could ever be, but as Benjamin Franklin said, it is as close to perfect as he had ever witnessed.
