In this episode, Abby shares her journey as a mental health warrior which began after years of struggling with abuse, anxiety, alcohol addiction, depression and even a few suicide attempts over 8 years ago. Her days consisted of self-sabotaging and destructive behaviour patterns. Abby felt completely alone, faking her way through the day and hardly ever speaking her own truth. It was that dark season of life (resulting from years of childhood trauma) that made her realize that she had to flip the script and write a new narrative for herself. This conversation is heartfelt, honest and motivating.
Abby is a second generation Latina Canadian who believes that at the heart of every
woman is a beautiful spirit, but life can sometimes test us in ways that are painful,
challenging, and sometimes scarring. As a mental health advocate, international best-
selling author and content creator, she speaks and writes openly about her ongoing
journey of trauma and addiction recovery.
Through her speaking engagements, coaching and mentorship, Abby finds joy in being
a source of unconditional love for those seeking a more vibrant and fulfilling life. She
uses her fifteen years of experience and education as a nurse to mentor women so they can become the best version of themselves. Abby shares a message of hope, healing and all that’s possible when you reclaim the light in your life.
Abby is married and a proud mother of three amazing children. She currently lives in
Edmonton, Alberta.
