The Soule of Wisdom

It's a busy day on this Monday following the collapse of SVB. The Feds have stepped in to assure us that all deposits - no matter the amount - that were in Silicon Valley Bank will be covered. Depsite that there has been another bank failure, and more are likely on the way. Meanwhile, my experience interacting with the Etsy seller community (covered in my stream this past Saturday) showed just how shaky the ground is on which so many small businesses are built. In this video I break all this down and give my thoughts on the state of things.

On Friday SVB (Silicone Valley Bank) was shut down by the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation and put in receivership with with the FDIC. Meanwhile the Etsy selling community is in a panic as many deposits have been held up by this failure. In the video I will discuss the latest news on the bank, where I think the Etsy selling community is going wrong in their response, and what I think is coming next for America.

Steven Crowder appeared on Timcast IRL last night to make his case against what he calls "Big Con" and why he thinks companies like The Daily Wire are doing it all wrong. Prior to this appearance I was first faily neutral on this mess, but after his recorded call with Jeremy I was finding more fault with Steven. The question is, did Steven change my mind? In this stream I discuss my thoughts on it all. How I can relate to Steven. Where I think he is right. Where I think he is wrong.

Support the show! Great merch now available at https://soulewisdom.com/merch  News has come out that Iowa GOP leaders have introduced a bill that would cut out such staples and fresh meat and sliced cheese from the SNAP program. While we are generally not about handouts here at The Soule of Wisdom, we don't see this measure as something that makes any sense. In this video we'll break down the news on the bill, what it says, and what we think the GOP should really focus on. We'll also quickly discuss the latest on Steven Crowder / Daily Wire mess as Steven is scheduled to appear on Timcast IRL tonight. As well, we'll have a rant about Kroger.

Yesterday I discussed the conflict between Steven Crowder and The Daily Wire, and I was thanked by many for having a balanced take. That was before Crowder published a video containing a phone call with Jeremy Boreing that he secretly taped. That video changed things, at least for me. In this video I am going to break down key points of Steven's newest video and explain where I take issue and why.

Alec Baldwin will be charged in New Mexico with involuntary manslaughter for the death of Halyna Hutchins during the filming of the movie Rust in 2021. In this video I will delve into the latest news and what it means.

As well, I will be discussing the now open rift between Steven Crowder and The Daily Wire over their offer to have him bring Mug Club to their platform.

It has recently come to light that San Francisco has a "reparations committee." This committee is proposing that every longtime black resident receive a $5 million payout along with other compensations. In this video I break down the story, give my thoughts, and explain why this is, put simply, a stupid idea. I will also be discussing the story of an Indiana man being arrested after his toddler son waved around a loaded gun on live TV.

Over the weekend Alabama basketball player Darius Miles was arrested and charged with capital murder. In this video I'm reviewing the details of this story and discussing what this alleged incident and incidents like it say about our society. In addition I will be talking about Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen's comments on faith as well as discussing some changes we're making here at The Soule of Wisdom.

Kevin McCarthy Is Still Short On Votes to be Speaker of the House as Friday voting begins. Despite overnight reports that progress had been made on a deal, it's now clear that the 21 holdouts are not budging and the votes are simply not there. In this video I cover the latest and give my thoughts on the matter as the House is gaveled in for another day of crazy.

We can simply say that 2023 is anything but dull as Kevin McCarthy loses 7th speaker vote in a row. The group that is standing against McCarthy is holding strong at least for now, and it's clear through this vote that even if Kevin McCarthy gets the job in the end he'll have a group of people on him at every moment. In this video I discuss why I think this group standing firm against McCarthy is historic, funny, sad, and needed, and all these things all at once.
