It has become so normalized to keep justifying yourself in corporate environments that it's easy to not see this is a power play move.

When someone is constantly trying to get you to justify yourself, your decisions, understand that they do not want cooperation, they want power over you.

You will never win or succeed in this dynamic.

Much of the corporate rules we see today were created when there were large unions.  In the system of those unions, you did sacrifice....but there was a trade-off.  You self-abandoned and companies kept you for 30 years, gave you regular raises, paved the road to promotions and gave you a nice pension.
