Meyers Brewing Company opened in 2021 in the Fishtown area of Philly and in a few short years has become part of the fabric of the trendy neighborhood. Owner Mike Meyers aims to bring the same sense of fun and community to the Jersey Shore with the soon to open Meyers Lighthouse Brewery and Mini Golf in Ocean View. Vic, Richard, and Tom took the trip down to Cape May County’s newest brewery to speak with Mike and head brewer Andrew Swanson. The guys discussed the Meyers Brewery history, plans for the new location and what beers we may see on tap for the projected Memorial Day weekend opening. Meyer’s Lighthouse Brewery and Mini-Golf is located at 2576 US-9, Ocean View, NJ 08230
A podcast 3 years in the making! Vic finally gets Jeff from Heavy Reel Brewing Companyand Zach from Gusto Brewing Companydown in the basement. Head brewers Greg and Dan join the group along with Tom and Richard. We talk about the history and growth of both breweries, some of their newest beers, perfect pours and what happens when a beer doesn’t come out as planned. We also get into a conversation about Pork Roll/Taylor Ham (Editor's note: it is clearly pork roll, taylor ham is blasphemy), haunted breweries and mysterious ice cream stands. Like Ozzy a little off the rails, but the train arrives safely.
We took the show on the road and hung out with Jon Henderson at the Good Time Tricycle Productions HQ to talk about the the history, evolution, and the upcoming Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival coming up on April 12th and 13th at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
Vic and James talk with Denny and Patty from NJ Beer Partners who have visited 533 breweries in 37 states and 11 countries! They didn't talk about all of the beers and the breweries, but they really tried! Fun conversation, enjoy!
Happy New Year and welcome to our first show of 2024. We have something a little different on tap for the new year. Manafirkin hosted a Singer/Songwriter showcase last month and Vic had the opportunity to interview several of the musicians before the show as well Todd Hunt, co owner of the brewery. So instead of hearing about yeast and mash tuns, you’ll hear about Fenders and Martins and sound systems. Thanks for listening hope you enjoy it!
Pinelands Brewing Co is one of the OG craft breweries in Ocean County, brewing great beer for almost 10 years. Vic, Richard/James and Tom are joined by PBC partners Mike Broderson and Robert Shay. As always the podcast road features a lot of detours as we discuss the Jersey Devil, Black Garlic Beer and the illustrious history of the brewery. Thanks for listening!
Vic and Richard are back in the basement, joined by Alexis as they host Donn, Lisa and Brandon from Manafirkin Brewing Company.
It's always a wild 'firkin ride when this crew comes on the show, as we talk about the brewery expansion, canning, distribution and, of course, try some delicious Manfirkin beers.
Manafirkin is a featured brewery at the Made in Jersey festival on September 30, so this show features a new edition of the world famous (well at least in our world) "So You Think You Can Jersey?" quiz show.
We also get a little out of orbit and talk about UFO congressional hearings and for possibly the first time ever on a beer-centric podcast you will hear the words, "quantum entanglement"!
The truth is out there.!
Cheers and enjoy!
We're BAAAACK! Vic and Richard were joined by SJBS OG Tom at Mudhen Brewing in Wildwood. The boys had a great time talking with Tony, Mary Pat and Brian, about the history of Mudhen, the beer community in Cape May County. Of course we got to taste some delicious Mudhen beer into a barrel aged version of the award winning Wee Heavy Wilson.
Stay tuned for more upcoming episodes!
