On Monday of this week we attended a rally in Harrisburg where we joined dozens of survivors, including many from the Grand Jury Reports. The world is watching Pennsylvania right now and the legislation that's up for a vote by the Senate is incredibly important. The whole day was inspiring and we were honored to be standing among so many courageous people!

In the past few weeks, 12 different people from 12 different churches contacted us about their church leaders covering up abuse. In this episode we explain the dangers of that and plead with leaders to reconsider. This is part 1. In 2012 Shaun Dougherty reported abuse he had suffered at the hands of a priest when he was between the ages of 11 and 13. An investigation opened and was handed over to the Attorney General's office. The Altoona-Johnstown Diocese report, which included Shaun's statements, was released in 2016 to the public. It spurred survivors from all over the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to report their abuse and ultimately led to the PA Grand Jury Investigation. This was the largest investigation into Catholic pedophile abuse in history. It uncovered over 350 pedophiles and over 1,000 victims.

Shaun talks about the impact the report has had on survivors around the globe since its release two weeks ago.

Jules shares what led her to go public, why she named her abuser by name, and what she hoped would change as a result of her coming forward.

There are so many different ways people attempt to discredit survivors when they disclose their abuse. They not only discredit them by saying they had a "troubled past," but they also pin blame on them for the abuse happening in the first place. Survivors are becoming empowered to turn the tables, though!
