The Spike Feed

We are a week away from Strixhaven, and more than Standard, our thoughts are completely in Historic. We talk about Thoughtseize in the format and we talk a about the latest Arena Cube. We go over some spoiled cards and ponder what the Secret Lair subscription service would actually mean. Thank you for your honor.

It’s another Historic centric conversation at the start of the show as we continue to speculate at what Brainstorm, Faithless Looting, and some other choice cards are going to do to the format. We also review a couple of Strixhaven spoilers. Thank you for your honor.

What a crazy week. Strixhaven might end up being the set to remember. We go deep into all of the crazy cards ending up in historic. We also review the iPad version of Arena and talk about game cabinets. Thank you for your honor.

Despite Standard being really solid, we spent the lion’s share on Historic. Historic Shakeup removes a few key cards from the format, but doesn’t upset it too much, and Death’s Shadow continues to be an exciting addition to the arsenal. We take a look at the roadmap for 2021 and check out the latest Diablo like game. Plus tons of movie/TV/video game discussion. Thank you for your honor.

Historic Anthology dropped, which means 25 cards are going to make a huge impact to historic….or maybe just Death’s Shadow. We take a look at the Historic metagame and what Death’s Shadow might do to the format. We also put a bow on our discussion of Time Spiral Remastered. And Curtis regals us with his quest to build/restore/or find an arcade cabinet. Thank you for your honor.

Things are beginning to open up, and we talk a little about paper Magic and where the Legacy meta is. We also talk Standard. And we lament the missed opportunity of Historic Anthology IV. We also review (and get into the weeds) with Wandavision. Thank you for your honor.

This week take a look at the long awaited One Ring to Rule them all that will finally supplant the Black Lotus as the best card in Magic’s history. We talk Historic and Standard, and we ask why old borders are not on everything in the Time Spiral Remastered Set. Thank you for your honor.

We dive deep into the Historic metagame and take a look at where everything has settled with the banning of Uro. We take a look at the various new Commands, and we talk movies and TV. Thank you for your honor.

It’s another banned cast, and what a list for 2021. We go over all of the banned and restricted announcements and speculate what it will mean for all of the various formats. We also talk video games and how to stay warm. Thank you for your honor.

Kaldheim has fully invaded Standard, and we take a look at some of the choice decks in the format. We talk more about Kaldheim Limited and we ask how a card Tibalt’s Trickery made it past R&D at Wizards. We also review Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Yakuza Like a Dragon. Thank you for your honor.
