The Spike Feed

We’re fully into a new standard and…. hmm, it’s not looking good. On the eve of the inevitable bannings , we ask what can be done to help improve the quality of the game. We take a look at what Omnath is dong in standard, and we share our experiences with Zendikar draft. We also talk a little comics and video games. Thank you for your honor.

Zendikar is upon us and we give our initial impressions of the set. Sealed seems pretty decent, but we take a look at what Omnath is doing in Standard. Curtis gives us his rundown of playing Cube in person and we talk Spelunky 2, Mario Allstars and Console Preordering. Thank you for your honor.

We’ve got more cards from Zendikar to talk about. We’ve got an Historic Invitiational to talk about. And we’ve got to talk about the Time Spiral announcement from two week ago. We also talk new consoles and review various types of ice cream brands. Thank you for your honor.

Zendikar spoilers are upon us, so we go deep on some of the spoiled cards. And the main thing we talk about is the new double-faced land type, and what this means for the future of MtG moving forward. We delayed this week for the inevitable banning of Field of the Dead, and while we’re grateful to see the card removed from Historic, we still ask why it took this long. We also take a look at the new “Supreme Draft” format coming to Aren..a…scratch that… MTGO. Cool concept, But yeah, MTGO. We also talk Docs, TV, and Video Games. Thank you for your honor.

Not only do we get Amonkhet Remastered, but Wizards sprinkled some surprise cards into the format. We go over our experiences in draft and sealed. We also take a look at the current Historic metagame, what impact cards like Thoughtseize and Collected Company will have, and ask when Field of the Dead will be banned. We also talk video games. Lots of video games. Thank you for your honor.

Wizards slipped one by on us, and so we’re a week late to talk about the major Banned and Restricted announcement. We dive deep into Standard, Pioneer, and Historic to take a look at how the banning will affect the various formats. We also talk about a movie and video game. Thank you for your honor.

This might be one of the most uneventful weeks in Magic. So to make up for the lack of news to report on, we come up with a wishlist of cards we want to see in Historic Anthology 4. We also talk a little about Standard and Historic, and finish the episode off with a book and a couple of films. Thank you for your honor.

One of us is hidden away in an undisclosed location to bring you this week’s episode. We take a look at the state of Historic and Standard and ask if it’s time for any cards to be banned. We also talk a little bit about the impact Double Master will have. Thank you for your honor.
