The Spike Feed

Oh hello, Thalia, how are you? Do my eyes deceive me? Is that Knight of the Reliquary? Ghost Quarter too? It looks like with the recent announcement of historic cards, Curtis will be getting the band back together for Historic Maverick. This episode was fueled on Dark Souls. Thank you for your honor.

What a crazy week. Fresh off of doing our taxes, we’re amped to talk about MtG. We go over Standard and Pioneer. We look at the weirdness that is Jump Start. Ask what Arena on Mobile means for getting Pioneer on Arena. And we take a look at a documentary series and some video game journalism. Thank you for your honor.

In a surprise turn of events, Cameron played Legacy this week, and suited up the Jeskai Breach deck. Curtis gives his synopsis with the Current standard. We give props to the new Challenger Decks coming out, and we take a look at a few video games and movies. Thank you for your honor.

Are ProTours good for formats like Pioneer? We take a look at the recent results and speculate what it all means for the newest Magic format. We share our experiences with Standard. And give some movie and comic recommendations. Thank you for your honor.

It’s a relatively quiet news week, so we instead talk about Super Bowl food. We take a look at the current Standard meta, ask what UB Inverter means for Pioneer, and then review Joker and Doom classic. Thank you for your honor.

We’re keeping it casual since there’s little in the way of MtG news. We talk about our Standard experiences this week, go over the new Magic video game, and lament (yet again) the slow death of Legacy. Then Cameron launches into his Star Trek discussion. Thank you for your honor.

Everything is coming up Curtis this week: we talk about legendary food dishes, Kansas City Chiefs football, and Theros: Beyond Death. (It just might take us three times to get it right.) We go over our initial impressions with Theros in both Sealed and Standard. We talk about the most recent Modern bans, and we talk about a Switch strategy game and a Netflix documentary series. Thank you for your honor.

The full Theros Beyond Death set has been spoiled and in classic Spike Feed fashion, we’re guaranteeing a 50% accuracy in our set review. We take a look at all of the announcements made for Arena. And we talk about some video games and movies we played this week. Thank you for your honor.

The floodgates have been opened on Theros Beyond Death, so we take a look at a few cards that might impact the various formats. Cameron gives his hot take on drafting Dominaria, while Curtis concocts the optimal Esper Dance list. We share our thoughts on some other media we’ve been consuming as well. Thank you for your honor.

It’s that time of year again, our year in review. We take a look at 2019, with all of the highs and lows of Magic the Gathering. We share our experiences in historic, and then we dive deep in our annual Star Wars talk. Thank you for your honor.
