The Spike Feed

A snowstorm in Kanas City doesn’t slow down the news from this week. We talk about the latest “suspension” list from Historic. Talk about the MMORPG…PRGMMOGRD? game that was announced. And we talk about a few spoiled cards coming from Theros. Thank you for your honor.

We dive deep into Pioneer this week looking at the current meta game after the banning of Field of the Dead, Once Upon a Time, and Smugglers Copter. We look at Standard after the top 8 of the Mythic Championship, and for the second week in a row, Curtis shares his experiences with Dark Souls. This just in: he thinks it might be a good game. Thank you for your honor.

After a comma-inducing Thanksgiving, we share what we’ve been up to this week. We talk a little bit about Historic, Standard, and Pioneer. We try to figure out why LGS’s are left out with Secret Lair, and finally we discuss Star City going all premium with its articles. Thank you for your honor.

Is Standard fixed? Is Historic any good? And how great is Pioneer? We attempt to answer these questions and more this week. We speculate what the drop in prices for Modern staples means to the format, and we talk more about Star Wars. Thank you for your honor.

We’ve learned that if there’s a ban coming, then we should record a day late. So here’s our Monday Post-Ban Show. We discuss our thoughts on Oko and Once Upon a Time in Standard, and shed a tear for Legacy as we talk about Wrenn and Six. We’re also baffled by the recent announcement for Historic, and we’re trying to figure out what that format will be. Thank you for your honor.

Pioneer is here and we talk about it in detail. Cameron suits up a U/W control list. We go over the banned and restricted announcement, complain more about the current Standard meta, and don’t mention that format between Legacy and Standard. Thank you for your honor.

Welcome to the Pioneer Podcast. The podcast in which we talk all things Pioneer. With Standard being the hot mess it is, Legacy fading into the mists of Vintage, and Modern…being Modern, our thoughts are consumed with all things Pioneer. Deck lists dropped, so we speculate what it will mean for the budding format. We talk about the decks we would like to play, and look at what the larger magic community thinks of Pioneer Thank you for your honor.

We go down the Pioneer rabbit hole this week. What’s the format going to look like? What cards will be banned? How can Cameron liquidate all of the Thassas he’s accumulated? We go over these questions and more. Plus, a Star Wars trailer! We discuss. Thank you for your honor.

We delayed the show by a day because of the B&R update, but Wizards took us completely by surprise with the new Pioneer Format. We discuss the two cards that were banned and what that means for Standard and Pauper. We then have a lengthy conversation about Pioneer and speculate what this could mean for the future of Modern and the future of Arena. Thank you for your honor.

Let’s ban it all! We have a lengthy discussion about all things banning this week. We take a look at Standard and speculate what the date change for the B&R list might mean for the various formats. We take a few standard decks for a spin, and we have a lengthy conversation about the awesome (but frustrating) game Control. Thank you for your honor.
