Ash is a retelling of the tale of "Cinderella" but with a twist. This is an LGTBQ love story that takes the idea of Cinderella and adds some spice. Ash the main character, takes on the role of Cinderella. You have all the normal tropes of the evil stepmother, horrible step-sister, and so on. The prince is a side character to Ash's main love interest. There are fairies, magic, and love in this book. I loved it.
How do you recover when a tragedy occurs and destroys everything you had planned for your life? That's what Faithful by Alice Hoffman explores in her book. Shelby, the main character, has to rediscover who she is and what she wants in life after a horrible car accident destroys everything she has worked for.
Alli Brosh takes the issues of mental health and turns them into a source of self-discovery and humor. Her books are absolutely hilarious and are a must-read for anyone struggling with their mental health.
In this week's episode, I sat down with my daughter Corine and we discussed one of her favorite book series, Artemis Fowl. We discuss her favorite characters, their actions, and how they move the story along.
In this episode, I go over the first book in the House of Night series and discuss the first book, Marked. I also discuss the main characters like Zoey Redbird and her friends Stevie Ray, Damien Eric, and Shawnee. I also touch base with regards to the world-building and how the "vampire world" gets turned on its head in this series. I do get into the plot a bit but not too much. I hope you enjoy this episode.
My friend Krista and I tear into the first book in the Sarah J. Maas series that starts with the book A Court of Thorns and Roses.
Andre'a Peyton and I discuss the entire series both the books and movies of the Harry Potter World. 1
