Amy and Maya serve up the ultimate Tennis Report about their trip to the Miami Open. This was an epic trip that included a VIP tennis experience and a stay at what the ladies affectionately refer to as  “The Gaslight Inn”. This week, the ladies are prepping for their big trip to the Miami Open. Pedicures! Panic shopping! Spray tans! They contemplate being a good consumer, which leads to an analysis of Jeff Bezos trying not to be a nerd anymore. Maya poses the theory that real-life billionaires are just comic book super villains. Mostly different versions of Lex Luthor. Florida is great…except for the most Floridia-y parts. Amy has some choice words for big sunscreen. Maya’s dad had a very specific lecture about sunscreen. Amy has developed a Nutella cookie addiction, and now the whole family is hooked. Maya has a flashback to their last Florida trip, spring break 1993, and making Amy’s dad stop at the Ron Jon Surf Shop, and he was mad because it was sooooooo out of the way. Maya and Amy imagine their new Florida Golden Girl lifestyle together. Don’t get us started on raw dogging cable in your hotel room.  Heaven help the person who doesn’t prep a PTO document for their team. The ladies recap the Miami Open results so far and can’t believe all the huge tennis stars in the tournament. Also, what celebrities will they see? 

Amy kicks off the ep. with some ASMR. Her nails are soooooo on point. We all get a lesson in nail shapes! Amy has a bone to pick with the nail techs in her life. Maya is preserving her back for the epic Miami Open trip. Amy is fresh out of The Big Easy and has a travel report for your ass. Amy contemplates getting another ear piercing. Don’t you love a free museum? Amy takes a self-guided unexpected historical tour of New Orleans. Feel the vibrations! We love a good historical plaque! This week’s ep. kicks off with a Fashion Report about fake Adidas from Target. Amy is wracking up the frequent flyer miles. Amy describes the free-for-all that is the Southwest experience. She’s also headed to New Orleans, and Maya suggests doing some “witchy stuff” and a “ghost tour”. The ladies take a deep dive into this season of Love Is Blind. Turns out that Love is Bland in Minnesota. Fun fact: Amy’s former co-worker is on LIB. Monica, we love you, but what the hell is a sock bin? Also, the guy that was “addicted” to Advil? Amy’s dog ruined the dog park with her runaway ways. Damn Sadie! Let’s be clear, reading a book or wearing headphones are a definite social cue to leave me the eff alone. This week, Maya finally got that dress from Poshmark. Attention clothes resellers: stop putting smells on clothes! The ladies discuss their ‘fits for the Miami Open. Amy is ready for vacay and can’t wait to hear Maya’s “regular lady” voice. Maya reviews A Complete Unknown. Amy is convinced Bob Dylan is on the spectrum. Amy and Maya recount doing the most on a Woodstock project in high school, including a deep dive on Joan Baez and Bob Dylan. Also, Amy thinks Pete Seeger is a nerd. Amy reviews Becoming Led Zeppelin. Next up, Oscar talk. Who will win? BTW, SOSS will always be team Chris Rock, forever—IYKYK. Also, what the hell happened to the middle of Adrian Brody’s career? Amy reviews SNL 50. Shane Gillis is the worst. Bowen Yang is the best.  In a hard right turn, the gals share their feelings about the shouting match in the Oval Office and how the SNL cold open this week saved everything. The White House staff probably got to take home some great snacks that day because that lunch was definitely canceled. Next up, we preview the Lifetime National Margarita Day movie. Amy just got back from, “Florida…it’s one hell of a drug!” and recaps her trip. Turns out, Florida is just down there Florida-ing. Hot tip, you can take off from Terminal as a 10 and land in Miami as a -2. Also, rich people in Florida…how’d you do that?  Also, people coming back  from Disney look like they want to die. Amy recounts her farewell trip on Sun Country Airlines. Maya said buh-bye to that budget airline long ago. The ladies discuss air safety. Next, the gals are counting down to their Miami Open trip. Maya has a Poshmark issue. Amy’s dad loves to talk about gangsters and drug smuggling. Amy visits an amazing bookstore. Keep doing small tiny acts of rebellion. Maya loves Sam Rockwell as George W. Bush. Amy just can’t with Christian Bale’s method acting. Amy accidentally googles “sick chicken”. Maya reviews The Gorge. She lost Amy at sci-fi. Amy thinks Glen Powell is the new Tom Cruise. Maya has a Chris Pine update. Amy is fantasizing about the Clooneys for president. 

This week on SOSS Street Maya’s thrown her back out but the pod must go on. Amy is bursting at the seams with content. First up, a tribute to Amy’s mom Marsh who is retiring after 33 years at Children’s Hospital. Marsh sent Maya old photos because she is doing the midwestern version of Swedish Death Cleaning. Amy volunteers at an event and runs into an old patient. It really brought out the private investigator in Amy. Next, Amy reviews the new Max show The Pit. Former nurse approved! Big ups for the Littmann stethoscopes. Also, bonus points for the LUCAS machine. Amy really wants Noah Wyle to be her doctor. Amy gives an update on the Walgreens “crotch and butt aisle”. Amy reviews the Oscar-nominated movie The Substance. Does Demi Moore deserve an Oscar? Amy is determined to watch all the best picture nominees…except Dune 2. Somehow, Amy is just getting around to watching the movie Blackfish. Maya reviews the new Tom Green documentary. He really was ahead of his time. Maya weighs in on this year’s Sexist Man Alive. Playboy Magazine is back! Animal Report: Punxsutawney Phil’s Groundhog Day report. Finally, the ladies make predictions for the Superb Owl. 

This week on the pod Maya and Producer Tyler are getting a new oven for a 1950s oven hole. Adjustments and augmentations were required. Two “toddlers” came to pre-measure for the appliance installation. It didn’t inspire confidence. Amy recaps her trip to Isla Mujeres, MX with her sister and her mother Marsh. Incidentally, Marsh declared this is her “last trip”. Amy’s mom has a habit of declaring everything is her last whatever these days…last mattress, last car, etc. Relax…she’s perfectly fine. Amy rented a rickety-ass bike. Protein Update: Amy discovers all protein powders are filled with heavy metals. Amy heard a rumor about Barak and Michelle that has her shook. Amy reflects on the miracle of medical science and the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Amy is on a journey to watch every Oscar-nominated movie and pronounces Emilia Perez a fantastic movie. We kick off the ep. with protein struggles. Is everyone just eating chicken breasts all day long? Amy mistakes Maya and Producer Tyler for models this week. Very generous. Apparently, it’s totally the slacks. Amy doesn’t measure when she orders jeans online. Maya is still disgusted by breakfast food early in the morning. Amy comes from a line of “strong-ass boned women”. Also, box jumps…who can do that? Amy goes to a gym where there is a place to “get your butt going good”. Listen, get your creatine. Maya has a Sun Post (local paper) update: The Devil’s Lettuce. Also, don’t sleep on the local crime reports. Some dispensory feedback: Step up your game, make it nice. Amy was going to make Maya cut her hair but she finally got her hair cut. News flash: Amy still has her “cancer hair”. The ladies brainstorm what to do with it. Maya recounts a story of a random tooth in a tiny manilla envelope. Animal Report: Orca dead salmon hat update and a man gives a Pine Marten CPR. Amy reports on airplane slides. The ladies kick off the ep with big football energy. They recap the recent saga of the Vikings of Minnesota. Big ups to Sam Darnold the Rudy of the NFL. Amy wants Maya to learn how to cut her hair. We wait so long and pay so much. Amy gets flack for “having SO much hair”.  Be warned, when rudely pushed, Amy will weaponize the time she lost all her hair because of CANCER. Producer Tyler pays $20 plus tip for a cut, however, one time someone went Color Me Bad on his sideburns. BTW, is there anything more demoralizing than when someone comes at you with a spray bottle? Amy reviews the movie Baby Girl and spoiler alert Nicole Kidman is still shaking her tits all over the place. Maya reviews the Yacht Rock documentary. It turns out Steely Dan is the origin of everything. P.S. Micheal Jackson has a Yacht Rock song on Thriller. The ladies reminisce about the first videos on MTV.
