We always know we're in for a treat when a fellow bourbon buff opens their home, and this week was no exception. Randy Slager, the legend behind Region Rat Bourbon (IG @regionratbourbon) welcomed us into his whiskey cellar for an unforgettable tasting session. From rare pours that even stumped our most seasoned Advisor to swapping stories (and bottles), it was a blast. Plus, we got a deep dive into the history of some of our favorite distilleries. On this week’s episode, we have a few visceral reactions to what we’re tasting. We try a brand new beer from one of our local breweries, a barrel-aged tequila, and a bourbon so hot, it had to have been bottled by satan himself. Joel and Andy try them blind and (feebly) attempt to order them by price, think “The Price is Right” style. In the process, we discover a new “sleeper” in a very inexpensive bourbon that everyone tried for the first time and was blown away by. Part 2 of Matey's in Michigan City with a few special guests!

We sit down with Josh Deth, Founder and Chairman of the party for Revolution Brewing! Matey's Bar and Grill in Michigan City had us out for the night and what a night it was! Josh Deth joined us and we chatted about all things craft. With incredible views of the city and an amazing sunset, this turned out to be an incredible evening!

This week’s all-whiskey episode was actually recorded on June 27, the night of the first Presidential debates. We threw down some interesting spirits with a Presidential theme (that was the plan, anyway). Andy came out swinging with offerings from Heaven’s Door and Oregon Spirit. Zack introduced us to our first 100% rice whiskey from J.T. Melek. Joel finished us up with a smooth-talking bourbon from Proof and Wood called The Representative.
