This week we sit down with, in the words of Jacob Kao, the slow end of the new Massachusetts state record holders for the 4x200 and runner up for the Adidas 2021 Indoor Nationals Sam Ahern and Alex Landry. Ahern who got 2nd in the open 200m and 1st in the 60m at the same Nationals meet talks about how he started in track, fell in love, and hasn't looked back since. Landry, the sophomore of the group is now the fastest ranked sophomore in the nation and finished in the top 15 for the open 200m with Ahern. Going through the race and that whole weekend, along with talk about the infamous Acton-Boxborough coaching staff and team culture, the training that they have put in, and what they are looking forward to with the upcoming years and seasons. Fun talk, overall a great episode with some laughs and some real talk about running and its community.
This week with sit down with former Brookline now Dexter-Southfield student-athlete Myles Liss-Riordan. Already making a name for himself and being a successful runner before transferring and before the pandemic started, Myles has made huge strides and PRs in racing. Most notably is the 14:48 track 5k he ran this past fall at the RedTrack Time Trial. We discuss everything from his school transition, college recruitment and training, to his new training from Jacob Thompson in 2020 that was a huge factor in his success. Preaching patience in training and mental toughness for racing We would be shocked if Myles's success does not continue. It was great having him on and getting his thoughts and opinions on everything he has accomplished.
This week we sit down with the members of 800 United, the new record holders of the U20 4x800m, Bailey Goggans (Texas), Roisin Willis (Wisconsin), Juliette Whittaker (Maryland), and Sophia Gorriaran (Rhode Island). We discuss how the team came together and the feelings behind the open 800 they raced the day before, and the relay. How their careers have been like being high-caliber athletes especially now with the current situation and how they are still finding ways to compete and show off their amazing talents. From family history to training plans to their personal taste in music, we enjoyed getting to know these young women and can't wait to see what other accomplishments they will achieve together and individually.
This week with sit does with BYU student-athlete Michael Ottesen and discuss his long road to being on the BYU cross country team that won in 2019 and track team. Through struggle and denial over and over again he expresses his go-to attitude he had toward reaching his goal and how he plans on reaching his next ones like being an All-American. The inspiration behind this story is an underdog movie in the making and we can't wait to see what he does his last season at BYU and what will come next.
In this episode, we sit down with two Bryant University athletes from the track and field team, one alumni and one current junior, both of which have had major success hold multiple records, and being part of many high performing and well-respected relay teams including the 4x400, 4x800, and DMR. We discuss their experiences and reasons why they enjoyed their time at Bryant, reflecting back on past races and relays, and how finding a balance between social life, academics, and running is a key component for enjoying anyone's four years of commitment.

This week we sit down with Westpoint senior, soon to be graduate, Daniel Horoho as we talk about Westpoint from an application and recruitment point of view, his experience going from being a top high school athlete to barely staying on the team going into his junior year at Westpoint, the mental obstacles he faced and how he learned to attack them, team culture on how people help out from the sideline, life balance between school, running, and social life, and finally plans for after college. An absolute pleasure to hear the story of a collegiate athlete and his development and growth over his eight-year span of competitive running.

This week with sit down with the sprinting coach from Acton-Boxborough DJ Brock. Attending and competing at AB while in high school, DJ came back to the program as a coach and has seen incredible success from coaching individual athletes and the team as a hole. He is also the founder of Impact Speed & Agility, a camp he runs for all athletes to improve on their form and speed. We talk about the roller coaster of events and emotions he and the AB team had gone through, his mindset behind coaching and what he preaches to his athletes, thoughts on college running, goals for this coming track seasons, and much more. Full of energy this is an episode that will get you HYPED up.
This week we sit down with Susanne Duato, the co-founder of CrossFit110 in Chelmsford and founder of Thrive Health & Wellness. We discuss her background and interest in the field of nutrition, the importance of eating whole foods, how tracking calories isn't important as long as you are getting essential foods and macronutrients, why nutrition and sleep can play such a big role in our lives health wise and emotionally, and other questions we had pertaining to high school and college kids athletes and non-athletes alike.
