    Guy Morgan has represented South Africa since the age of 16 and finds himself in the SA U21 hockey squad. Guy did well for the Kearsney College 1st XI hockey team, had success with KZN Coastals and is thriving at Tuks where he continues to grow as a player.


    Guy and I go back a number of years and we also talk about an incredible cricket match that took place when Guy represented KZN Inland U12 as the wicket keeper.

    Babalwa Latsha, who only in the past number of years decided to pursue a rugby career, has done her country proud and continues to make waves in the rugby world. Balawa is the first professional player to have played in Spain where she did extremely well. With her eyes set on doing well in the 2021 World Cup, we can only expect Babalwa to do more great things in the rugby world for women.

    Allan Donald, who is easily regarded as one of the all time greats in the cricket world, gave us a great talk on how he pursued his desire to be a coach and break the stigma of only being known as a specialist coach.

    We also spoke on his ambitions for The Knights, his induction into the ICC Hall of Fame and his tour against Sri Lanka which left him dealing with a fish in his air con unit.

    Former Wales and Namibia rugby coach, Phil Davies, spoke to The Sports Editor about his fantastic career at Llanelli where he made 350 appearances. We also discussed his approach to coaching the Namibia rugby team at the Rugby World Cup and what he basis his coaching on which includes getting up at 5am for scrumming sessions!

    We also discuss New Zealand's dominance in rugby.

  • George Linde - On the upward trend

    George Linde continues to impress in the cricket world. He has won numerous awards but that doesn't distract him from his ambitions and goals. George is aiming to dominate in the all-rounder category and is working hard to make the Protea call up a regular one. George is doing well as he has taken more than 300 wickets in his career thus far with three centuries to his name.


    I challenged George to a session in the nets and we discussed his favourite football teams performances.

  • Siya Nolutshungu - A goalkeeping dynamic

    Siya has worked incredibly hard on his hockey game. After not featuring in the ranks in his primary school career, Siya moved up very quickly to attain a spot in the Junior World Cup team and is now a full time member of the South Africa hockey squad.

    Siya has also started his own company called SN Goalkeeper Dynamics.

    Shayne Makombe has worked hard not only on his rugby game but in terms of his personal development. Shayne has completed his degree after spending some time in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

    Shayne has represented Zimbabwe in Rugby Sevens as well as Rugby Union and continues to push himself to get the most out of his game. He currently plies his trade at Rugby Club Compiegne in France.

    Shayne spoke about the ins and outs of his rugby career as well as his first attempt at eating snails.

    André Tredoux has a vast amount of experience which has seen him coach at clubs and Universities in South Africa such as the Cheetahs and Leopards as well as at school boy level where he coached at Paarl Boys. André also spent some time coaching in Japan and now finds himself as head coach of Slava Moscow RFC.

    André gave us a great talk on rugby locally and internationally.
