Hanno Möttölä, with the Finland National Team joined The Sports Rabbi to discuss the upcoming World Cup Qualifier on Friday (2:30pm) at the Drive In Arena in Tel Aviv. The former Atlanta Hawks forward also looked back at his phenomenal career with Utah under Rick Majerus, his time in Europe with Skipper Bologna when they fell to Maccabi Tel Aviv in the 2004 as well as Finnish superstar Lauri Markkanen and the future of the country’s basketball program.

The Sports Rabbi welcomed Hapoel Jerusalem star Levi Randolph to show the just after the forward helped the Reds capture the Israel State Cup by defeating Maccabi Tel Aviv 68-61 at the Arena. Randolph spoke about what makes the team so special, his career in college and as a pro as well as the Jerusalem season to date.

Right after Randolph, Ben Pask joined the program to take a look at the past round of games in the Israeli basketball league while also looking ahead to Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Euroleague clash with Bayern Munich and the Israel National Team’s World Cup qualifiers against Finland and Slovenia.

The Sports Rabbi and Ben Pask revisited the Israel State Cup as Hapoel Jerusalem downed Maccabi Tel Aviv 67-61 to take the title. We looked at what the Reds did right and what the Yellow & Blue did wrong from Speedy Smith to Zach Hankins and from Lorenzo Brown to Wade Baldwin while we also spoke about the upcoming games as well.

The Sports Rabbi and Ben Pask looked back at the Israel Basketball State Cup semifinals as Maccabi Tel Aviv downed Nes Ziona and Hapoel Jerusalem got by Hapoel Haifa to setup an Israeli Classico in the title match on Thursday night. We spoke about Noam Yaacov and Lorenzo Brown and how they may or may not influence their respective teams in the final.
