Today's episode explores a common theme in the book of Luke: Jesus is for everyone who believes. He knocks at the doors of all hearts looking for faith. One might expect to find faith in the heart of a religious leader. In today's passage we see faith in the heart of one woman who is just looking for mercy.
Today's passage: Luke 7:36-50
If you follow me on social media, you saw that I had a bug last Sunday which kept me from posting a new episode. What I didn't know when I posted that update is that I had COVID. It's been a long week, but I didn't want to go two Mondays without posting a new episode.
This is a sermon I've preached on the church at Ephesus. It's a story that spans from Acts to Revelation, covering decades of the early church. I hope this is an encouragement to you! We'll plan on resuming Luke next week.
If you were to make a list of the least likely people in the history of the universe to have doubts about Jesus, John the Baptist would be on that list. Yet here in Luke 7, John is in a season of doubt. From this there is a ton we can learn about doubt, our own doubt, and how Jesus responds to it. I hope this episode is an encouragement to all the doubters out there!
Today's Passage: Luke 7:18-35
As we start chapter 7, we see Jesus entering into a new phase of ministry. There's some big changes ahead, yet there is ALWAYS miraculous power and a loving Christ!
Today's Passage: Luke 7:1-17
We are back with another theology explainer episode! This week's topic is creation. How old is the earth? What are the main views to interpreting God's work in creation? What implications can we draw from the massive power God has put on display? What is He like? How should we respond?

On today's theology explainer episode we dive into the topic of Communion! We will answer a lot of questions such as... What has the church believed about communion? How does it fit into the narrative of the Bible? What does it even mean? Why is it even important? Through it all we are going to see a good and faithful God LAVISHING grace on His beloved.

In today's episode we'll see Jesus finish His sermon. He's covered a lot so far, yet He has plenty left to teach us. We're going to talk about that often quoted verse "judge not", and perhaps see that there's more to that verse than might first meet the eye.
Today's Passage: Luke 6:37-49
Today's episode continues to work through Jesus' sermon. Last week Jesus taught us symmetrical blessings and woes. This week His focus is on the WHO, HOW and WHY of love. He teaches a radical, radical love.
Today's Passage: Luke 6:27-36
Today we move to the first of Jesus' sermon. He gives us a little glimpse of His kingdom that will give us a great opportunity to use a little alliteration! We'll hopefully learn a few things about Bible interpretation along the way.

Today's Passage: Luke 6:17-26
In today's episode Jesus is calling out apostles from His group of disciples. We can learn a lot from how Jesus approaches this big decision. While the world may not be impressed by this crew, there was something truly remarkable about each and every one of them.
