We are back to our normally scheduled podcast! Thank you for your patients over the last couple weeks as took a little detour. On today's episode Luke tells us about two not so friendly interactions Jesus had with the Pharisees. Both interactions revolve around the Sabbath. So today we'll talk about what the Sabbath is, why it's important and why the Pharisees were so upset.
Today's Passage: Luke 6:1-11
As some of you know, my daytime job is in youth ministry. There’s a certain point in June where my schedule gets a little crazy. That doesn’t give me a lot of free time to produce quality episodes. Instead of rushing out a Bible study, I will wait until I can give the passage the time it deserves. In the meantime… I’m leaving you a 2 part sermon series I did last summer on Galatians 3. Last week was part 1, and today's episode is part 2. By the time July 3rd rolls around we should be back on track with our journey through the book of Luke!

Whenever we read a passage in the Bible it is always good to ask: what does this teach me about following Jesus? In other words... how can I apply this to my life? Sometimes that means there's an example to follow, sometimes that means there's an example to avoid, and sometimes it means both! Today's passage is one of those passages where we find all kinds of applicable examples!
Today's Passage: Luke 5:17-26
Today's passage has a lot to teach us about how God works, and the divine appointments He sets. God's holiness and power demands a response from each and every one of us!

We all make mistakes. Nazareth made a BIG one! They rejected Jesus. The events in this week's episode highlight how big of a mistake they made. They rejected the one who has ALL the authority.
“There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry, Mine!” -Abraham Kuyper
Passage: Luke 4:31-44
The ministry of Jesus is officially under way! His fame quickly grows. But a quick trip to His hometown doesn't exactly go as we might expect... in fact... we see things get pretty ugly in Nazareth.
Today's passage: Luke 4:13-30
In this week's episode we are returning to the book of Luke. We will see Jesus face off with Satan in the wilderness. Satan will use the same tactics that brought him victory over Adam & Eve and the people of Israel. He's crafty but he's never faced off with someone like Jesus before. There is truly no one like Jesus!
