The Steve Warne Project - Ottawa Sports Talk

We take our usual irreverent look back at the year that was.

We catch up on our first show since Christmas; Alex Ovechkin passes Gordie Howe for second place on the NHL's all time goal scoring list; the Blue Jays acquire Daulton Varsho. Tragic news out of Buffalo from their awful winter storms.

We bring back some of our old Christmas tunes from our radio show. Mark Messier credits magic mushrooms for helping him with his elite leadership skills. Erik Karlsson keeps ripping it up. And Jim does a bunch of important interviews up in Sudbury then completely loses the recordings when he misplaces one SD card and has another one snap in two.

Jim knows how to treat our sponsor well. An awesome sports weekend; NHL Gambling Ads are everywhere; Amazing NFL Finishes

Today we talk about Troy Crowder's appearances on the Suspendables and a great story he has about his last fight with Bob Probert; We discuss the Ryan Reaves hit; World Cup Final; and Brock Purdy's Rise to Fame.

Jim Visits His Childhood Home in Sudbury; the Sens Honour Wade Redden in their ring of honour: the Blue Jays have added another big name to their starting rotation, agreeing to a three-year, $63-million deal with right-hander Chris Bassitt, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Sens gets thumped by LA 5-2 and coach DJ Smith takes blames afterward; Marie-Phillip Poulin is Canada's athlete of the year. Was she the best choice? Aaron Judge gets a king's ransom in New York.

Are Sens Keen on Erik Karlsson? Analyst Kevin Weeks thinks so. Who's the Canadian Athlete of the Year? We have some suggestions. Steve's incessant cold give shim the NFL Films Guy voice.

Justin Verlander's new contract is insane. Are the Senators straightening things out? Who's John Tortorella upset with now? Bruce Boudreau sits down one of his stars and the Redblacks have a whole new coaching staff.

Canada Goes 0-3 at World Cup, losing last match to Morocco; Canada Wins Davis Cup, biggest team event in tennis; Sens Fall Again to Rangers to begin a home and home.
