We always say “nothing happens in the world that doesn’t happen in your own family." This was too close, though, a shooting just outside our own front door in Tallahassee. This community has been blessed in the past, but now big city crime is here. Chicago is still the leader. Listen to what happened there on Father’s Day alone: 106 people wounded, 14 fatal, 5 of which were minors.
To compare with Tallahassee, we have seen shootings here in 2020 including 10 dead and 24 injured from 31 shootings. As in all things, there are many scoffers saying God is not in control, but they are in control. 2 Peter 3:3-4 “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”
We believe that Yeshua has the answer for this, spoken to us by Prophet Paul in 2 Peter 3:8-10 “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”
