We are a species with amnesia...  We are afraid of the things we don't understand and destroy them without proper thought...  This unfortunately what happened to Australia's Stonehenge.  However before it was destroyed some excellent work was done in the late 1930's by Frederick Slater and then rediscovered in 2013 by Richard Patterson when more work was undertaken...  It's another example of singular people changing our understanding of history and for these types of people we must be forever thankful.  Enjoy.
