A young couple moves into a repurposed Sunday-school farmhouse—cheap rent, painted shut windows, and a shower the size of a phone booth. At first, it’s just quirky…until the bedroom door closes itself, the furnace blasts full heat on a sweltering night, and a desperate triangle-shaped banishing is the only thing that shuts it off. Later, a ceiling light snaps off—though the switch is on the outside of the room—and the couple discovers the door handle, deadbolt, and switch were all installed to lock someone in. Top it off with a disposable-camera photo that reveals a snarling stranger hovering over a shoulder, and you have a rental where the house clearly owns its tenants.
