  • Episode 10: Become Who You Say You Want to Be

In this last episode of the season of the Strategies to Cope podcast, we’re getting real about discipline, micro-commitments, self-trust, relationships, our environment, and the uncomfortable truth that our lives often reflect what we consistently prioritize when nobody is watching.

We’ll talk about why believing your efforts matter is essential to persistence, why you don’t have to control the outcome to choose your direction, and how small promises to yourself can create lasting change.

If something in your life isn’t working, maybe you don’t need to blow everything up, you might just need to run a new experiment. Change one or two things. Reassess. Learn. Reset. Try again.

We’ll also talk about investing in yourself, choosing quality over quantity, reassessing relationships, creating healthy environments, learning to pause instead of react, and recognizing when you’ve stayed somewhere long enough to gain the skills, but long enough to lose yourself.

And through it all, we’ll bring it back to God, because this isn’t about becoming a perfect version of yourself. It’s about becoming more intentional with the life you’ve been given and taking the next right step.

    Scriptures to sit with:

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 (NIV)

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2 (NIV)

🧠 Stress Less Skill of the Week:

    The Daily Alignment Check

    Ask yourself:

    1. What did I do today that moved me toward the person I want to become?
    2. What moved me away from that person?
    3. What’s ONE tiny experiment I can run tomorrow? You don’t have to change your whole life today.

Change something. Keep one small promise. Reset quickly. Take the next right step.

    And remember…

Suffering sucks, but God is so good. ❤️

  • Psalm 90: Live With Intention

What if we really stopped to consider how short life is?

In this simple, unedited episode, I read from Psalm 90 and reflect on Moses’ reminder that our days are limited. We don’t know how many days we have, but we do have a choice in how we use the ones God has given us.

Psalm 90:12 says, “So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

Today, let’s slow down and ask ourselves: Am I living intentionally? Am I spending my time on what truly matters? Am I loving the people God has placed in my life? Am I making room for Him?

No fancy music. No production. Just me, God’s Word, and a reminder that our days matter.

Don’t wait for someday to start living with purpose.

Number your days. Live with intention. Love deeply. And make your life count.

Remember, suffering sucks, but God is so good.

  • Episode 8: When God Invites Us to Rest

What if rest isn’t something we have to earn, but an invitation from God?

In this episode of the Strategies to Cope Podcast, we’re talking about the difference between working hard and living in anxious toil. Psalm 127:2 reminds us that we don’t have to exhaust ourselves trying to hold everything together. While we sleep, God is still working.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed by responsibilities, constantly thinking about what needs to be done, or struggling with guilt whenever you slow down, this episode is a reminder that you are not God’s employee, you are His beloved. You don’t have to carry the whole world on your shoulders.

We’ll talk about why rest can actually be an act of faith, how to release the things we can’t control, and how to trust God when our minds want to keep striving.

Plus, this week’s Stress Less Skill is the Open Hands Prayer…a simple practice for physically and spiritually releasing our burdens to God.

Take a deep breath. Open your hands. Let God be God.

    You are allowed to rest.

And remember… suffering sucks, but God is so good. ❤️

  • Episode 7: Learning to Live Deeply

What if we stopped rushing through life long enough to actually live it?

In this episode of Strategies to Cope, we’re talking about what it means to live deeply to slow down, pay attention, embrace the moments that matter, and stop measuring our lives only by what we accomplish.

Sometimes suffering, stress, grief, and disappointment can make us feel like we’re simply surviving from one day to the next. But God invites us into something deeper. A life filled with intention, presence, gratitude, connection, and purpose even when life doesn’t look the way we hoped it would.

We’ll explore how to stop living on autopilot, recognize the sacredness in ordinary moments, and make room for the people and things that truly matter.

Because a meaningful life isn’t necessarily a busy life.

    It’s a deeply lived life.

And sometimes learning to live deeply begins with something as simple as slowing down and asking, “God, what are You inviting me to notice today?”

Scripture focus: Psalm 90:12 “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

  • Episode 6: Marriage: What Kills a Marriage Covenant?

Marriage doesn’t usually fall apart overnight. Sometimes the things that threaten a marriage covenant happen slowly. There is resentment, unforgiveness, emotional distance, selfishness, poor communication, neglect, and the pressures of everyday life.

In this episode, we’re taking an honest look at the things that can slowly weaken a marriage covenant and what we can do before the distance becomes too great.

Marriage is more than staying together. It’s a covenant worth protecting, nurturing, and fighting for.

If your marriage is thriving, struggling, or somewhere in between, this conversation is a reminder that what we tolerate, what we nurture, and what we choose to repair matters.

Real life. Real struggles. Real hope.
And always, a reminder that God is still good, even when marriage is hard.

  • Episode 5: Peace Is More Than the Absence Of Problems

Have you ever thought, “I’ll finally have peace when this situation changes”?

Many of us spend our lives waiting for the storm to pass before we allow ourselves to breathe. But what if peace isn’t found when our problems disappear? What if true peace is found in the middle of the struggle?

In this episode of the Strategies to Cope Podcast, we explore the difference between temporary relief and the lasting peace that comes from God. Life can be messy, unpredictable, and painful—but we don’t have to walk through those moments without hope.

    Together, we’ll talk about:
Finding peace when circumstances are difficult
Letting go of the pressure to control everything
Trusting God when answers don’t come quickly
Learning how faith can steady our hearts during stressful seasons

Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us that when we bring our worries to God, His peace—beyond our understanding—can guard our hearts and minds.

Peace doesn’t mean life is perfect.
Peace means knowing we are not alone.

Join me as we learn practical strategies to cope with life’s challenges while keeping our hearts anchored in God’s truth.

Real life. Real struggles. Real hope.

  • Episode 4: Burnout Isn’t a Badge of Honor

We live in a culture that often celebrates being busy. We wear exhaustion like a badge of honor, and sometimes believe that the more we do, the more valuable we are, but burnout was never God's design for us.

In this episode of The Strategies To Cope Podcast, we'll talk about the difference between being productive and being depleted. We will explore how burnout can show up through irritability, brain fog, losing joy, emotional exhaustion, and constant fatigue. I'll also look at the example of Jesus, who often stepped away to pray and rest.

If this episode encourages you, share it with someone who may need the reminder that they don't have to earn their worth through exhaustion.

Until next time, Remember: Suffering Sucks, but God is So Good. Talk to you next time.

  • Episode 3: When We Don’t Realize We’re Suffering

Sometimes we think suffering only happens through major tragedies or life changing events. But suffering can also show up quietly through constant busyness, caregiver fatigue, disappointment, loneliness, unanswered, prayers, and exhaustion.

In this episode of The Strategies to Cope Podcast, we'll talk about how suffering often whispers before it shouts and we will explore the importance of recognizing what we're carrying and bringing those burdens honestly to God instead of pretending we're Okay. We will learn that God is not distant from our pain and he is close to the brokenhearted.

If this episode encourages you share with someone who may need the reminder that they don't have to carry their burdens alone.

New episodes are released every Monday morning, so I'll meet you back here next week. Until then, remember suffering sucks but God is so good. I'll talk to you next time.
