The Strictly Sonic Show

Up now on our adventures is another title which teeters on being a Sonic game, but it's hard to deny the game's place in our lineup considering all the ties it holds with the blue blur himself, even bearing in mind his absence in the title. We're of course talking about Knuckles' Chaotix and its older, buggier counterpart: Sonic Crackers. Despite the interesting background behind it, Knuckles' Chaotix isn't exactly the most beloved entry in the franchise but its soundtrack holds a place in the hearts of many Sonic fans. So come and join cdrom as he discusses the only 32X title on our journey!

After showcasing his love of the first game a few weeks back, you can bet that cdrom is over the moon that they decided to make a Sonic Drift sequel so soon after the first game's release? No? Well join him anyway for a show all about the fleshed out sequel and its larger than last time soundtrack!

We're still not done with those 8-Bit OSTs here on The Strictly Sonic Show, so up now is Sonic Triple Trouble. Released for the Game Gear in 1994, this handheld exclusive introduced the world to... wait... is it Nack the Weasel or Fang the Sniper??? Tune in to find out our answer to the burning question while we hear your thoughts on the game and play the tunes!

cdrom1019 takes you through Sonic Drift, a forgotten game with a forgotten soundtrack! For the sake of not leaving you less than half empty 23 minutes in, he also takes you through ViRiX Dreamcore's "Project Drift" album and asks just why is it that you people love your 8-Bit so much?!

The Strictly Sonic Show tackles Sonic's best regarded classic entry: Sonic 3 & Knuckles. We play the soundtrack, talk all about your memories and bring up the biggie: Hydro City... or Hydrocity? Hmmm....

Thanks to popular request, cdrom1019 is looking at 1993's totally 100% original Sonic puzzle game: Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. Both the 8 and 16 bit versions are on the cards tonight along with their OSTs and your opinions. Puyo Puyo? Never heard of her!

Have you ever felt the need to play pinball as a blue rodent? Nope? Well in 1993, SEGA Technical Institute really thought they were tapping into this market when they released Sonic Spinball, a love it or loathe it pinball game featuring elements from Sonic's cartoon appearances of the time. We're here to talk about your memories, but more importantly play you the highs and lows of both the 16-Bit and 8-Bit soundtracks!

It's about time we started looking at those 8-Bit exclusives now on The Strictly Sonic Show, so let's start with one of the most adored of them all: Sonic Chaos. Regardless of whether you grew up with the Game Gear version or the Master System version, you (mostly) got the same great OST. Let's go through the soundtrack and hear your memories in the process!

After last week's slightly underwhelming game selection, it's time that we brough out the big guns: Sonic CD. The most polarising entry in the classic series in terms of gameplay also brings with it the most widely beloved soundtrack, and... another slightly less loved soundtrack? Join us this week on The Strictly Sonic Show as we explore by far the largest Sonic OST on the show up until now with a 4 hour romp full of various twists and turns!

This week's show takes a slight detour as we look at the obscure Japan only arcade title known as SegaSonic the Hedgehog! Nowadays best known for its unique control scheme and introducing Mighty and Ray to the series before their demise and rise from the ashes, but it's lack of a home release means that cdrom and our chat aren't all too familiar with the title, so instead join us for trivia and a run through the game's soundtrack!
