The Strong Casuals

This year at the Official Strongman Games world final we had the incredible opportunity to sit down with legendary strongman Nick Best. We discussed how well the event was planned and how smoothly it was running considering the massive roster of competitors - all down to the impeccable efforts of Lynn Morehouse and the OSG team. We also talked about his long history in the sport, the behind the scene antics of filming of The Strongest Man in History, and his thoughts on the evolution of strongman.

Special thanks to Nick himself https://www.instagram.com/nickbeststrongman / https://www.youtube.com/@NickBestStrongman, Lynn Morehouse at OSG https://www.instagram.com/lynncelot, and Ben with the Angry Dad Podcast https://www.instagram.com/angry_dad_podcast_/.

Recording note: we conducted the interview in the lobby of Nick's hotel so there is some background noise.

We start this episode off with a recap of the Rogue Invitational and then delve into the incredible opportunity we had to attend the 2024 Official Strongman Games world final in Madison, WI. It was a phenomenal event event run impeccably well and we enjoyed every minute of it. We round out the episode with a look towards King of the Table 13 which will pit two strongmen, Brian Shaw and Eddie Hall, against each other on the arm wrestling table.

This week we're doing something a little different. We've got a watch along of the 1987 film "Over the Top" staring Sylvester Stallone as an arm wrestler and truck driver working to not only win an arm wrestling competition, but also the love of his estranged son - what a classic. In order to get the full effect of this episode you can play "Over the Top" alongside our audio when we count down in the beginning.
