I interviewed the amazing saxophonist, Gerald Albright via Skype about his newly released album "G".  His new album features a remake of Avant's song, "Read Your Mind" as well as collaborations with Michael McDonald and Doug E. Fresh.  It's the perfect soundtrack to any road trip or your Sunday afternoon.  

Gerald and I discussed what it was like for him to play with his daughter, Selina, who is a singer, and also his experience playing with President Bill Clinton. The Bill Clinton story Gerald shares will leave you with stomach pains from laughter. Gerald also participated in our Studio Q  "Lightning Round" which gave us fun answers to rapid-fire questions. I interviewed Taraji P. Henson at her Hollywood movie premiere for the "From The Rough" film she and Michael Clarke Duncan starred in.  This was before she became Cookie in Empire, Hidden Figures and that bad ass Proud Mary. From The Rough is movie that tells the inspirational true story of Catana Starks from the historically black university Tennessee State, who became the first African-American woman ever to coach an all-men’s team at the collegiate level. Through grit and determination, she overcame incredible odds and deep-seated prejudice from all corners to guide a rag-tag group of golfers to an all-time record championship season. 

"I believe art changes lives, art saves lives, art creates lives, and right now, tonight, it's not about me. It's about this woman's story, her legacy. She touched me; she inspired me." Taraji says about Catana Starks during our Studio Q interview.  This was the last film that Michael Clark Duncan starred in. Taraji says, "I'm just so grateful to God and the angels above, including Michael Clark Duncan who had everything to do with getting this movie distributed. There's a very emotional scene in the movie when I'm getting fired..and I'm human. Some days I'm in it, some days I'm not. And this particular day, I just wasn't feeling it. And as a scene partner, he was there and available. And all I had to do was look up in his big ole brown eyes, and then it just came for me." 

Other stars in the film include Henry Simmons, Tom Felton, LaToya Luckett, Ben Youcef, Robert Bailey Jr. and Justin Chon. This film is all about dedication and perseverance. Coach Catana Starks is indeed a true Shero and after watching the film, you'll feel totally inspired.

I caught up with the amazingly talented actress/singer, Dawnn Lewis for a one-on-one interview. We discussed her career and revisited fun memories from when she starred on the hit 90's sitcom that everyone loved entitled 'A Different World.'  I even attempted to sing the show's theme song with Dawnn who actually wrote it! I was excited and honored to interview Don B. Welch just days before the film adaptation of his popular inspirational stage play, The Lost Souls Café premiered on TV One. We covered so many topics in our conversation that if you never met him you will really feel like you know him after listening in.  He was oozing with positivity and dripping with wisdom. For those of you who may be unaware, Don B. Welch is an accomplished singer, actor, writer, director, playwright, producer and author. 

As a playwright, he has written and directed over 27 productions. The most successful being: The Bachelor Party, The Bachelorette Party, My Brothers Keeper, The Divorce and Fight Club.  Noted artists such as: Loretta Devine, Lynn Whitfield, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Dorien Wilson, Marla Gibbs, Ledisi, Kenny Lattimore, Dawnn Lewis, Jackee Harry, Freda Payne, Mary Wilson, Ananda Lewis, Flex Alexander, Shanice Wilson, Ellia English, Ginuwine, Malinda Williams, Keith Robinson, Darius McCrary, Carl Payne, Keith Robinson, Ernest L. I sat down with the hilarious Maronzio Vance and discussed his co-starring role on the 2nd season of George Lopez's show "Lopez" on TV Land.  Maronzio Vance is a writer, actor, and comedian noted for his comedic timing in his roles for television shows. Vance began his acting career with roles in the series "JKX: The Jamie Kennedy Experiment" (WB, 2001-04) and "Wanda Does It" (2004-05). He also appeared on the television special "Jamie Foxx's Laffapalooza" (2004-07) which he talked about in our Studio Q interview. Maronzio continued his comedic performances throughout the early 2000s and the 2010s, appearing on"The Half Hour" (Comedy Central, 2011-15) and "Enlisted" (Fox, 2013-14). He also lent his voice to "Freaknik: The Musical" (Cartoon Network, 2009-2010).
